Hope I am still skiing at 82.

When I take a trip to Wa (mid-week AM skip work trip), I always run into older skiers. Not unusual to run into eldrly couples skiing together @ wa mid-week morings. The lodge is filled with "swing" era music...it's great.

I skied one night @ Wa with a 70-yr old guy...met on the lift. New gear, gore-tex jacket, etc. His pals don't ski anymore so he has to go by himself.

I told him what I tell all the "elderly" skiers I meet. They are my heroes.

It's great to over hear seniors chatting up shaped skis and helmets etc. Awesome.

I ran into Bill Robinson at Wa a few years ago. That was an educational experience! Those who had the fortune of meeting him will know what I mean.

One of the more "experienced" skiers I've had the pleasure of meeting was Dr. Egan, who has a couple of sons who have somewhat of a name in the industry. I haven't seen him in a while, but he was a mid-week regualar at Big Blue.

The 70+ ski club members are my heros

It's great to see that somebody in the field is being recognized. I usually only see Ski Patrollers getting bashing for what they don't do and people not realizing exactly how much they do for the mountain.

Great article and thanks for posting TrailBoss.
