Ski Season is Here!!!

Well, it's official. (For me anyway) I just got back from Killington where I got my first runs of the season in. I know, I know, they're just trying to claim that they're the first open by forcing out one run, but what the heck. I was eating dinner last night and I said I just HAVE to go skiing tomorrow! The website said they had 7 trails open, but it's true, they only had one. Top to bottom though. Decent conditions, for fake snow. Plenty of moguls and things to jump off of. But the "mini-park" that they claim on the website, was one rail-slide. That was it.

Anyway, just wanted to be the first to wish everyone a Happy Holiday (the Holiday which is from now until whenever ski season is over).

See you on the Mountain(s).

Cool Head(wall)Hunter. Heading up to Killington this Friday. Hoping it stays cold this week to allow for more snowmaking. Intellicast is calling for temps only dropping into the mid to upper thirties at night. Hoping the mountains will be colder than that...

Well...the cover at Killington was pretty light on Friday. It was still a ton of fun picking your way between the mud and areas of skiable snow. Rime also bumped up nicely by the afternoon which was fun.

It was really warm Friday and I was thinking it wasn't going to hold up this weekend, but it looks like they were able to make some snow last night to cover up some of the bare spots, so things should be in decent shape again today. It was good to get out again and get back into the groove. Yes, Ski Season is Here!
