Pulled in at 11 to a busy parking lot. Good to see. Weather was mostly sunny. Did a few warm up runs on Canyon and Nor Easter. Then took a run on Toms > Papoose. Took a quick break and scarfed a mound of chili cheese fries. Finished up doing a bunch of runs on NE > Temptor. Right side of all the bump fields were nice. Ran into Mikey on my last run. Mogulqueen came ripping down the middle line on my last run as well. Skied until 2pm.

I was on the Cabrawlers today. I was surprised how much I liked them on the groomed. Fun ski and much easier to crank out a bunch of quick short turns. The turn radius feels so much different than my Watea. It seemed like a was keeping a tight stance on the groomed and in the NE bumps. But when I got on Temptor with a little more pitch I was breaking my stance more and getting bucked after just a few bumps. This set of boards is going to work out much better than the mid fats at the Institution.

Sounds like it didn't take too long to get a hang of the new sticks.

Think I will hit Papoose on my first run tomorrow morning.

Beautiful day today!! I arrived at 1pm and left at 9pm. The moguls were fantastic today. The warm temps softened them up a bit so that they were more forgiving than the usual ice mounds. It was nice to see some great bump skiers out today. Grassi, you looked great on your new skis from what I saw. I also met some new faces and chatted with some old ones. What a great mountain. Even with the thousands of kids that were there today, I never waited more than a minute or two in line and never felt overwhelmed on the slopes. I feel so fortunate to have such a place in my backyard! I'll be out tomorrow afternoon and Monday too. I hope to see and meet some more AZers.

The interesting thing is the Cabrawler has a turn radius of 23m (that's the mid length, probably longer on yours) while your Watea is only 18m. Remember, there's a fair amount if skid with a mogul turn as your skiing more on a flat ski with less edge that a true carve. the Cabs are quick edge to edge so snapping off turns is well, a snap! :spin:

Glad you liked them. Did you get a chance to detune them? Once you get your confidence up, you'll be able to hold that tighter stance in the bumps too. Remember, squeeze the knees! The narrower ski won't clang together as much as wider skis which can freak you out (fear of tip cross!). Have fun getting some tip wear going on the other sides. ;)

I did detune. I felt them hooking up a little in the tail. I think that was more me being in the back seat a bit as I adjusted to the ski. I might pass a file over a slightly longer length of the tail. Hoping to squeeze in a few more hours with them real soon. I think I'm going to continue the existing tip wear.

I was on the Cabrawlers today. ...

You're the guy with the red, white and black cabrawlers? Didn't know for sure CabrawIers had those colors, I saw you once and a second while on the lift...but couldn't find you again to ask.

Don't tell me you were riding on the Rossi Moguls, was that you ripping the line on the right at Temptor. Damn, you own that line.

Me, I was on Dynstar Twisters, white and green. Had a olive drab/green jacket and black/grey helmet. I came in at 12:30 and had to leave at 3:30, I spent most of my time hooking up with another guy.

BTW, the moguls at Sundown were great, only reason why I went. The place has great people and atmosphere. I'll try to make it back soon.

That was me. I spied your Twisters. Most of the AZ crew has the white, red, and gold version. Next time my man....

New job situation has forced me to be off the net for most of the day, so I'm kind of spotty on whos wearing what. The perk is that I can take a friday off every week or two. When that happens, I plan on being in the bumps.

Give me a shout next time you see me. It's always a pleasure to meet new faces and ski with other mogul rippers. BTW, that right line is the money line!
