Date(s) Skied: Friday, 2/24/2005 - 7:30 pm -10:10 pm
Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown, New Hartford, CT
Conditions: LGR, Hardpack, Ice! Cold, breezy, clear.
Trip Report: Just got back from a night session along with bvibert and Catul. We did several runs; some together, some apart, but always meeting at the base to enjoy each others' company on the lift.
We did a few runs down Canyon, Temptor and Gunbarrel together. I did several runs on the Nor'easter bumps. They haven't changed much in shape since last weekend, but they did firm up a bit. Still very skiable with adequate manmade on the tops. I actually felt like I skied them pretty well for the most part. I guess those 30+ runs or so down them in the past week and a half have helped! Catul brought along his digital SLR for a few runs so he took a few shots of me on the lower section. We'll post them later. I also took a few pics of Catul and Brian on Exhibition with the SLR.
Surface was variable with several sections of blown off glare ice. The sides of most runs had decent LGR. Gunbarrel was fast and slick, but it gave me a chance to lay the AC3s on edge. They held very well. It was my first chance to work the new skis on some tricky hard pack. Very happy with the results.
All in all, a nice night. Great to meet a new AZer in Catul (super nice guy) and always a pleasure to ski with Brian. Thanks guys!
