There are so many colelges out there i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good business school in the northeast that is close to some GREAT skiing...

Any ideas would be AWSOME.. thankyou

UVM has a decent business school. St. Mike's would be another option. Does Dartmouth have an undergrad business program? I'm assuming, since they have a great MBA program.

St. Mikes or Champlain College for those programs. Champlain has a good regional reputation.

Im in the process of applying to Clarkson University in the North Country of NY for their MBA program in Global Supply Chain Management. The school is about an hour if you hustle from Whiteface which is a great mountain.

Your definately not going to get in without a 4 year degree however, so I would look into the best place you can go for that where your credits will transfer first, then worry about the MBA. Who knows, your career plans might change in those 2 years. 2 years ago I wanted to be something completely different.

UMass has a great business school - it was recently rated one of the tops in the country. Amherst is not a bad place to live and you can shoot up I-91 to Vermont for skiing - it will take you an hour to at most 2 hours to get to most of the places. I guess it all depends on what your priority is - being as close as possible to skiing with a good, but not great business school, or being at a great business school with access to great skiing, just not right next door.

(I'm not taking anything away from UVM, it's a great school, but I don't believe their business school was as highly rated).

I don't think that Tuck (Dartmouth) is the right place for you. Those guys are all in their late 20's or 30's, married, have business experience BEFORE coming to the program.

If you want small, Johnson State in VT Stowe 30 minutes, Smuggs 25, Jay 40. I went there, it has slipped a little academically over the past few years, new president ruined it and the best business teachers have left. Good luck

I live closeby to Clarkson ------Believe me you'll need a Heli to make iceface in an HR --cant' be done

Hell yeah it is. Take the shortcut around the western side of Whiteface before you hit Saranac and LP. Ive gotten there in 1:15 from Canton which is further west than Clarkson. It helped that it was 6 in morning and there werent any other cars out, but it can be done.

After reading your post and, responses - most of the schools mentioned would be great. I did my ski area mgmt program at Lyndon State in the NEK. Did internship at Burke. Excellent time! - Back then the lift op's would slow the chair while patrol helped us put kegs on the chair for consumption on top w/ beautiful views of the Gap. However, I'd run a spell check on your app!

Tucks isn't going to let you in if you even look like you might have possibly contemplated going the Associates route, even if it was the Associatest. Get your 4-year degree (BSBA preferred), work in a salt mine (Putnam, Fidelity, State Street, BoA, Morgan Stanley, etc) for two years, then go get your MBA.

I hate to say it, but if proximity to skiing is your main criterion, advanced degrees may not be the best plan for you.

(The above advice is given with no knowledge of your situation, apptitudes, or experience. Grains of salt available upon request.)

As others have stated you first have to complete a 4-year degree before you go for your MBA. As ct advises, you also have to seriously consider your priorities....if "skiing is your life" than an MBA might not be for you. To be successful in a good MBA program, your studies have to take a higher priority than skiing.

I have one kid in college and another in the on-deck circle. Take it one step at a time. Good luck!
