Nah, I'm sure I'll end up with a free subscription somehow.

Actually, I think they also published paper editions last year. I used to read them in the school bookstore. Never bought them but the content was actually good.

I thought they had retired it as a print product and were just sticking with SKI.

Yeah, like two years ago they stopped printing and sent the rest of my subscription as SKI which I don't care for. Then I started getting subscription offers via email. So I called and was told , 'no printing - subscription for online mag bla bla bla'. Obviously I wasn't interested in that but I started getting SKIING emails for online articles which were/are part of ski.net. Next thing I see is SKIING on the news stand this past fall.

FWIW I believe that I saw that Bonnier sold SKI/SKIING back to the original publisher. So there is hope!

I get a free subscription from SKI for my season pass from Snowbird. I subscribe to Powder, Backcountry (Ski Magazine), and Freeskier Magazine. All have far superior content compared to what SKI/SKIING became.

The actual newsstand price is $6.99 per issue. So the subscription is slightly less than 50%.

I saw Backpacker Magazine last night at my supermarket and almost got a copy until I saw that the (thin) edition was $7.99 per copy  I put it back.

I bought skiings gear guide last October. It was 6.99 then but I figured since I get 2-3 years out of a gear guide it would be worth it.

Nothing really against any of the mags or their websites, but think they could do one by magazine and the other by website...y/n? However chosen...ski/gear guides and Mike Rogan & maybe others' Tips VS Advertising. At least there would be 100% understanding of what one is purchasing or browsing, but then I guess that's not how the deeper pockets like to spend their time.
