Does anyone know where it snowed in Vermont during this last storm??? I saw winter storm warnings for northern VT....Did Killington get snow or rain??? Trying to decide if it's worth the drive up for the weekend...

Mostly rain south of the Mad River valley, mostly snow/mixed north. Chance for 12"+ in the Stowe/Smuggs/Jay area.

We had snow then rain both from monday and today. I did get out at Mount Snow yesterday and the skiing was great. The snowfall from monday was 6 inches with rain after ending with about 4 inches of solid white stuff, which my 220 lbs didn't brake thru. This morning we had about 2 inches of new with a light drizzle. Look for only manmade to be open this weekend.

Planning on taking advantage of Snow's 2 for $50 deal Sunday. Any opinions on if it'll be worth the 2.5 hour drive? Drizzle today, drizzle tomorrow, skiing on slush come Sunday?

Impossible to say. If Kmart was the only thing open at all, I'd say yes. Since there are other areas open, I'd say go to the closest one.

Hey, I'm as psyched for snow as anyone, but frankly, unless alot of steep inbounds terrain opens up because of this storm (maybe) or there was a good base in the woods and the storm will open up alot of OB stuff (unlikely anywhere but the far north, a 6 hour drive for me), I'll stick with Hunter until later in the season.

More like, "Is it worth the 5-6 hour drive to Stowe or Jay?" That's where the snow is and will be.

As if to totally contradict myself, I'll be at Okemo tomorrow (other reasons) and at Jay on Sunday.

It will be crowded but I don't know if anymore then any place else. Look for
timbers, Chute, Free fall and river run on the face and upper canyon, lodge, standard, exhibition, sundance, long john/deer run and unblanco gulch for sunday. On sat. Timbers will be closed for the Nastar pace setter trails.

Wish I could convince myself the 6 hour drive is worth it for Sunday and meet you there. Too much driving for a day trip though.

Cheap rooms for Saturday night in the Burlington/St. Albans area can be found with a bit of searching. $38 at the Super 8 on Shelburne Rd., and a number of choices are available in the $50 range (Fairfield Inn, Econo Lodge in St. Albans, Comfort Inn on Shelburne Rd, etc.) before the rest of them which are all around the $100/night Burlington standard.

Some of those rates are cheaper than driving home for the night for me.
