I think it would be fun to ski in a group with everyone in the group wearing front and rear facing cameras and then edit all that together. No limitation on your skiing because you are holding a pole out to front or side. Would require investment and a group of like minded/similar ability ski buds. Wouldn't work in the woods quite the same way as a big fat groomer.

Try putting a cam on your boot strap. I've done that with a contour. Worked pretty well carving following somebody close or doing figure 8's.

Have some engineer buds. We are going to make a spinning helmet mount setup. They have a full shop and crazy mad engineers so it could be sweet! Hope to bring that to Sugarbush in March.

Interesting....Ive mounted my gopro on a lot of things but I would never think of putting it on a ski pole Probably would look cool especially in powder.

I snowboard, and someone let me use their gopro pole and I didnt like it soley for the reason it was heavy after holding it for awhile. Ive found I just like holding it in my hand. I like those angles..even better than the helmet mount...

Some people dont like this stuff and I dont think its a matter of having to view yourself as much as it is a video/photography hobby incorporated with snowboarding..

I would be interested to see nicks vids with that pole...

Someone bought me one a couple years ago as a gift but honestly if the skiing is good enough to record, then I'm not messing around with a camera. I've used it a couple times but plan on selling it.

I had a poor experience the last time I skied with someone wearing one. He was always asking me if it was pointed correctly on his helmet mount, made frequent stops to start and stop recordings and even longer stops to swap out the batteries. Honestly I thought it was a pain and almost borderline rude to interrupt someone's day like that.

I've had stills and video shot of me while skiing and it's my experience that two things happen. If it's a gnarly enough chute, the photographer/videographer is so far away that it's tough to prove it's even me in the the recording. Worse than that, the steeps reproduce so flat that whatever I did looks like a beginner trail anyway.

It's not my thing, but it sure is popular.
