Show me on the doll where Skiology Matt touched you....

I don't understand why some of you care this much about some niche FB group. This guy seems like your standard internet blowhard, which are a dime a dozen.
I agree. He's a product of facebook.

I agree with AdironRider. Matt gets (some) people rilled up for a variety of reasons but he's not a criminal or evil. That's over the top.

The lawsuit will sort itself out.

Paywall is the solution.

I don’t think hes malicious. Just someone whose ego has been overinflated due to his cult-like following. Probably alot different in person but his internet persona is not for me. Honestly his followers/mods bother me more than him with the braindead questions and over-policing of posts.

I have never met him personally but I know a few people who have and they say he's a good guy IRL.

I believe it, the internet/social media has a tendency to distort and emphasize peoples worst traits.

I used to think he was a good guy, and then I read the lawsuit. From having met him in person, I know he was aware of the name conflict and didn't care to check on it. Like it or not, people think that the shop is related to the FB group. People have avoided the shop because of how they percieve the guy who runs the FB group, that's bad for the shop's business. Regardless of what happens in the courtroom, his ethics are not above board.

Any developments on this one?

Last week he was analyzing photos of the snow on Superstar and speculating about what was happening. It was, um, odd.

Darn. It's too bad that this guy lost his mind and died. He might have been a great choice for Matt ;)

Matt's doing what he calls a final fundraising appeal and states he is not returning via FB next year and will only return if it is via a pay walled site or app. We shall see. Personally hope he returns. But can't see donating $ to something that is shutting down.

I think the paywall is the way to go. Matt is a lightning rod and this will reduce the drama.

Yea, the whole "I may not do this next year, but please give me money anyway" thing is weird. And yet people are saying they're donating. Let's see what happens next year. He's been saying for years now that he was going to move to paywall. Personally I don't think there's the demand that he thinks there is to support a paid version.

The world will be better without him. Hate to say it but if you can’t take the effort to do the modicum of research it takes to find out snow predictions and current conditions you don’t deserve the powder…
