New to the NE and need some info. We're considering booking a trip to Smuggler's Notch in late March. Can anyone tell me what to expect in the way of conditions? How good will the cover be if winter ends up being weak. Thanks for help.

PS- hope this is in the right forum.

Welcome...I would bet that it would be good even with a bad winter. March has the deepest bases of the year usually the most preferred month to ski.

Welcome. Smuggs is a good bet if there is natural snow. I honestly don't know about snowmaking, but they have a good exposure. Slow lifts, but some really good terrain from what I hear.

you can't go wrong any where up north in march. by far the best month of the ski season regardless of season totals. just hope for no rain before your trip! even with rain, a good afternoon thaw might corn things up! ;) enjoy smuggs!

Smuggs is good if there is natural snow like TB said. If the natural snow isn't there, I would go elsewhere. Smuggs doesn't do much in the way of snowmaking. It is an awesome mountain mid-winter but isn't very good for early season or spring skiing.

Late March should be good though. They have a good amount of natural already and hopefully after this week will get some more.
