I didn't know Ropers had snow making, but the rest aren't really a surprise.

Once the main trails are set, they drag the hoses through the woods and hit the natural trails. It is quite rare (especially Roper's) but it's happened before.

Wachusett - how crowded?

I usually head up no NH or Vt but I'd like to take my kids with me this weekend and for them it probably makes little difference where they ski. Since Wachusett is the closest mountain with a decent vertical to me, I'm going to give it a try.

How crowded does it get on Sundays?

Sundays are better than Saturdays. I often go up Sunday afternoon around 4 to take my daughter up and it's not bad because it's kind of a transition time. If you are going for the day, try to get their early.
