I saw a lot of cars on the road up here in VT. Maybe some of you Who got out and where did you go? Great weekend...just wish I could have skied. I'm sneaking out for a few hours today though :D

Man, what a great season thus far...two Friday dumps. Good temps, good snowmaking weather...and it appears this weather is with us for a while (unless someone knows of a change that I don't).

Sick weekend at Jay. Most of the glades were open and there was some awesome pow in the trees. Even the stuff that was skied out was soft.

After a very emotionally draining Friday & Saturday I managed to get to Mount Snow on Sunday and hit up Wachusett for some night skiing on the way home. Both were fantastic. Was skiing in the trees at Carinthia and making zipper runs at Wachusett on Sunday night. Got screamed at by patrol to "slow down" on Smith Walton. I guess the second anyone starts making some GS turns they throw a hissy fit.

On Sunday, I got to Jiminy which I believe received some rain on Friday. I was very surprised how good the surface was - legit manmade packed snow, very edgeable. Awesome weather too - cool, in the 20's and little or no wind. Sun poked out in the pm. Great day.

Awesome skiing in the Catskills. Great snow and very few people on the hills. This is the typical weekend before Christmas where very few skiers and riders hit the slopes, which I guess is because of shoping for christmas. Midweek before Christmas will have even fewer folks on the slopes. The ski areas are covering the slopes with man made powder. There are lots of great cheap ticket sales now. So if you can find the time to get out, the days before Christmas is a great time to get out.

Took my wife to Mount Snow for her first turns of the season and since having our twins, and to make good use of our passes. She took a few runs to get used to "the new her" and she eventually stopped falling over. The Discovery area at Snow was perfect. She actually thought it was steep at first. Won't be long now. Deer Run here we come!

I was at Mount Snow this weekend ( and most weekends) with my pack of JV's. It was fantastic, with no thaw freze cycle no ice in sight, With a soft primary and very edgable manmade underneath Ripcord and Bear Trap were just awesome. Also a much smaller crowd then the previous weekend.

I was at Mount Snow on Saturday and was able to demo five different pairs of boards. Snow was great. Even found some pow off of Sunbrook -- not very deep though, heard some scrapes on the demo bases.

Had to be back in the city pretty early afternoon on Sunday, so I didn't get a chance to make any turns with Oz Skier.

Was at Waterville on Sunday. Boy, these are the best early season conditions I can remember in years, and it looks like a cold week with none of that pre-Christmas NCP that we sometimes deal with.

I went shopping at Book Monger Sat Afternoon...
I also bought my tickets for a sleigh ride New years Eve. I was the only one around there. I went down to have a beer at Legends there were 4 people there. The calm before the storm.

snowboarding again. It's pretty fun and it's amazing how steep South Ridge is when you change what's on your feet.

I'm sorry I couldn't get over to Northern Lights or do Amex but I did have fun on Dream Maker.

Re: This Weekend

I was at Sugarbush all weekend. Did Demo Days at North (in fresh powder) on Saturday and skied South on Sunday (most trails except Castlerock area were open and good). The 'Bush got 8 inches from Friday's storm plus it snowed all morning on Saturday.

I talked to some folks who did MRG opening day on Saturday who said it was great! I really wanted to demo some skis so I passed on MRG this time. The conditions were great at North for demoing. The Volkl AC4s were the best ski of the day for me. I think I'm going to have to pick-up a pair.

I have now skied 8 days so far this year. It's been a fantastic early season. Hopefully it will continue. :D
