Ok gear whores...call me an enabler but has anyone checked out http://www.spadout.com/? It's like a Pricegrabber, but for gear.

They are not a retailer, but just link to sites that sell that particular item and link to it. There's also a "learning section" that I thought was pretty good http://www.spadout.com/w/ski/ and a probably one of the most detailed "ski finders" that I've seen, although it doesn't ask you what conditions you want to ski on or what kind of skier you are, it picks them for you based on ski metrics and sizing: http://www.spadout.com/store.php?cat_view=1&cat_id=163&zcol_type_id=5
Here's what you would see for Volkl AC50 http://www.spadout.com/p/volkl-ac-50/ If that wasn't "bad" enough...you set alerts...so say when K2 Public Enemy drops below $200 in a 179, I'll get notified. You may be able to "do better" like I did with my new G10, but it's a great starting point.
