I would add: break out the fat skis. The increased surface area allows the ski to float over the corn and wet slop. The analogy to powder is apt. Red or yellow wax works wonders. Also, Zardoz teflon not wax (there was a thread on here very recently that talked about all of this).

Normally, I don't pay attention to ski articles on about.com. There's more wisdom on these boards and all one has to do is SEARCH. However, the article's author is Mark Elling who wrote a good instructional book on all-mountain skiing and I respect what he says.

How do you texture it? I'm a tuning noob for sure. Other than the wax & scrape, I've done very little self work.

^ They were blooming last week: Eighties themed parties, stretch pants and day-glo. Some ski magazine once said that the panty trees at Loon had the largest-sized drawers on any tree in America. To whoever wrote that, you obviously have not been skiing at Loon recently. That is all.

I saw a guy at sugarloaf last weekend who looked like he was wearing granny panties over his ski pants. WTH was up with that. :puke:

The good thing about artificial snow is that it can extend the skiing season, in spring skiing sticky spots can usually be found at the bottom of slopes, avoid hitting the slopes flat and fast for the suction may throw you down that's why you need to slow down and just stay on edges.
