Kirkwood will also open for July 4th weekend.

They plan to reopen July 2nd to July 4th.

In the meantime you can ski Kirkwood via Snow Cat. For $225 per person with a group of 12 you can have all of Kirkwood to yourself for a guided June tour. It includes lunch anf up to 8 runs.

If you're really interested, you can ski Donner Summit on weekends as long as skier turn out and snow holds up.

The past few days its been raining but the forecast today is rain/snow mix.

We have a group trip planned for the 20th of June to go to Mammoth for 3 days. Can't wait!!

What about A-basin?

They have comitted everyday operations until 6/5 then 6/10-12 and 6/17-19 They will evaluate on the last weekend about the 4th. I think they will, but they don't want to jinx it, because that happened one other time to them.

From A-Basin's 6/5 report...
Last day of the regular season! We are open again Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, June 10, 11 and 12 and June 17, 18 and 19. And possibly later...

hint hint :)

A-Basin's been hammered with amazing snow all spring, but its getting warm(er) and their web cams are starting to look like Spring Ski conditions the past few days.

I <3 A-Basin!

That's my picture, which is not reversed. Why would you think that?

Here is another view once we got off at the top of the chair.

....... as you can see, no trick photography.
:dontknow:

Perhaps it was my thinking that was backwards. I don't know why I was thinking the ledges were on the other side, especially with Eagles Nest being where it is.

I could see how you might think that was a bit lower on the liftline than it is. That is the final pitch before the summit terminal. And I can personally attest that that pitch offers some fine skiing!

Some highlights from the article above..

“I have skied for 72 years, and I’ve never skied snow like this in June,” said Eric Jucker, 75

The record conditions are even attracting out-of-towners. Bradley Rieders of Woodbury, N.Y., traveled to Snowbird with his sons, 23 and 26.

“We came out here to ski and golf on the same day,” Rieders said. “We flew all the way out here just for that. The weather is beautiful, the skiing is fantastic; it’s paradise, just unbelievable.”

Snowbird has its large tram and two lifts operating, offering access to every run on the mountain. By extending the closing date to July 4, it will be open 202 days this season, a record by one day.

Anyone who's on the fence about going out there for a weekend, if you have the means to do it, go for it. Back in 2005, another good season for the Wasatch, I hit Snowbird for the first weekend in June. Would I do it again? Heck yes, if I wasn't over my head in house projects for the summer. This thread is killing me. :-(

Yes, and then back out in October for good!

New gig? Working at Starthaus with Treckchick and Phil? lol

That timing is pretty close to another important thing happening in your life. That's gonna be a tough move.
