My buddy is a doc there. Not sure what the Mrs is doing, but he's the Director of Interventional Physiatry at Utah Spine and Joint Specialists. Could hook her up if it would be helpful.

Thanks Jens. We are trying to get something for me since she has her residency lined up (psychiatry). I'm fit for a straight jacket now!

You got options lined up all over the place! When you coming out to see us again? Perhaps wait until we see storms and then buy the ticket?

I have to say Thank you to Squaw Vally for being open and Thank you to the skiers who came out to support the amazing weekend.

Squaw had a great list of activities for the weekend which included concerts, family activities, mini golf and a huge pool party at High Camp.
Palisades was open as well as a short "hike to" North Bowl.

Top of Palisades looking out over Gorgeous Lake Tahoe!

DHS,

Yeah, it was a fantastic weekend of skiing at Squaw. Not is it rare to be skiing on July 4th but even rarer to have such awesome skiing at that. to say the day was Epic..is an understatement. Good times, good skiing and even better friends. Wow. LTD.

I'm jealous... I sweat my ass off at my son's all-star baseball game then went camping. While fun, I'd rather been skiing...

Glad all of you summer skiers had fun. The days are getting shorter, it won't be long!

How much longer could Squaw go if they wanted to?

I think Squaw could be open another 2 weeks. I also think they missed a lot by NOT being open from Memorial Day to the 4th. Alpine and Sugar Bowl too. I htink these resorts could have each taken a weekend rotation to be open by honoring their own passes and allowing skiers who had passes at other resorts access with their passes for a reduced price, like $25.00.

I agree. Snowbird has been open pretty much every weekend from Memorial Day to the 4th. I was there last weekend and there were folks, not a lot, but some traffic. And yesterday they were mobbed. Every lot was full and then some. Lots of press today. And they can brag about a 202 day season for folks who are in the season pass market (like me). A nice thing to have.

Understandably Squaw's new owners probably thought that they were doing the right thing by closing and reopening. I don't know if the previous ownership would have been as bullish or not, but from what little I saw of the old ownership they were pretty conservative.
