report from the SR board:
Conditions are almost as good as in '93 - which was epic early season skiing - when opening day was on the 11th...There are some nice lines and the snow on the top half is really nice. You will be pleasantly surprised. I'll try to upload some shots soon....

Also from the SR Board....

"The left side of T2, under the guns, was almost impossible, as that stuff was wet, deep, and very sticky. Going over there was like guaranteeing a nasty spill. The middle of the trail was nicer, still wet and sticky, but at least you could muscle a few turns there. The best stuff was on skier's right, but then you had to deal with ice chunks, and a couple of random holes in the middle of the snow. As I said, it got better with each run, as more people skied over it. I'm guessing it's pretty nice up there right now, as the guns are probably off, and the snow may have drained a little bit."

Glad I wasn't there at 9 this morning

Me too. Sounds like it was a bit tough first thing but was getting better by the afternoon.

Sounds like top to bottom is possible tomorrow or Saturday as well.

Which is all fine. But being critical of a ski area opening in October and suggesting that they should have waited will raise a lot of feathers around here. Lots of people, myself included, will be enjoying the limited product offered and gladly dealing with the less than ideal conditions. I like to get October turns one way or the other but tomorrow will be my earliest turns to date and I will take a core shot for that if I have to! :spin:
