Huh?

FYI we all came to the conclusion that a mountain with 100+ runs should have waited before opening with 1\2 a trail. Still they were the first!

What does it matter how many trails it has?It would be ok to open early if it only had 30 trails?Talk about splitting hairs.Any skier that would consider going this early in the season certainly would understand the skiing will be marginal.Major props to SR for cranking the jones meter up high so early.

Top to bottom all the way man!

Most of us don't consider South ridge an area to ski much. Top to botton on Locke is what had been discussed in multiple threads.

On the the Web cam this morning you could see the snow being made on lower punch.

Many of us have not skied or ridden many days in October.

The 90's had some Oct days. I made oct 31 the last two years and that is it.

I am not sure what you are use to in October. My expectations are minimal. I am glad to be out.

BobR didn't say anything to suggest that South Ridge would be open...so why throw up a cam shot of south ridge to debunk his prophecy? You sound pretty petty and disgruntled for someone who went skiing yesterday.

I've skied T2 to midstation early season for a bunch of years...and for my first day out, I'll get 10-12 runs max and the worst its ever been is "good" Complaining about downloading...c'mon, relax just a bit and enjoy the view, its OCTOBER.

The more important question is when does the Barker pub open?

Man I love the foliage pics with snow, it brings back memories of October past.

If you don't like it don't go! WROD skiing is not for everyone. Lines, downloading, limited visibility, limited terrain, thin cover, etc. But it is October 15th! What do you expect? I will be there tomorrow and Saturday and loving every minute of it. The first day of the season for me is always pure bliss. Not perfect skiing, but it's skiing! After a long off season I have a blast every time. Personally I am grateful that I will be skiing over a month before most areas even think of firing up the guns. Too early? No such thing.

Thank you Sunday River! And to all those who say this is a waste of money for the mountain, this seals the deal for me and many other season pass holders.

Sunday just went from 'no chance in hell' to 80% likelihood of me making turns on T2... I'm pumped.
