I’ve seen a lot of posts about what you do or should do to get into shape before ski season. I think the real question is what do you have to get done on the home front before you can get out to ski. I’ve got two major and one minor, at least by my count, I’m sure management (wife) has a different list. How about everybody else, what have you got left to do and could it interfere with your start of the season?

The start of the ski season Trumps all projects that I may have, luckily we're renters right now so I don't really have any projects anyway. ;)

By the time November rolls around, there won't be any pending projects to disrupt the start of the ski season.

I should have all my projects done by ski season but if I don't then the unfinished projects will have to wait until the season is over.

The only real projects I have to get done before ski season are to acquire lift tickets, and save some money for trips during the season!

As long as the roof isn't leaking, the heat and lites work, that'll keep the wife happy. We decided in lieu of anniversary gifts we'd do a kitchen redo, counters, tile the backsplash and new cabinet hardware. I agreed to it, and suggested we'd start with the cabinet hardware. I should be able to get that done by next spring. :)

I like to get all my errands taken care of like going to the dentist, eye dr., stocking up on TP, maybe prepaying a few bills..because once I get into ski mode..I don't get much accomplished. Also make sure I have my gear ready including fresh wax on my skis and new gloves, goggles, long underwear, socks and anything else that will make my ski season more pleasent..

in winter i pretty much have a one track mind. most days i have to bit bussiness in the morning and early afternoon. then its off to the mountain. i always have a fresh pair of socks, under amore in the car. my gear never really leaves the car unless it to tune and wax. if i dont have to work i am at the mountain. some days i even work from the mountain. take few runs go down to the lodge and send out some emails.

the wife knows me well enough to know nothing much is going to get done in the winter...pressure doesn't come back until April. We'll have a few projects to do this fall...clean the garage, clean the basement...but that's it.

Before the ski season..I need to be a little cheaper with my spending..If I can cut $20 a day for the next 3 months..that's almost another $2,000 for ski season..

NOTHING gets done in my house during ski season. I am officially excused from practically everything. Well, I will clean from time to time. And I do have to buy food. But that's IT.
