Wow, that looks unbelievably awesome. I'm very tempted to break down and buy the Xbox 1 for my kids for xmas just so we can have this game. But I'm seriously concerned about falling down the video game rabbit hole... hmm... what's a patent to do....

Our kids grew up on Xbox pretty much. We just limited their use. Our youngest at 14 is starting to take glider and powered flight lessons and his instructor said he is a natural almost like he has done this before. Our son has played on flight simulators which might have helped. Video games create an interesting hand eye coordination. In fact, when I play with him he blows me away because I do not have the same hand eye capability. There are negatives too I am sure but none that we have seen with our four boys.

In any case, our son is downloading the beta and I will tell you how it is! In fact, I am going to have him plug it into our big screen for this one. Wife is on travel so father son time!

Wow, that looks unbelievably awesome.

It's tough to say, because you never get to see the actual video game gameplay in video game commercials, you just see the higher resolution "in game movie" sequences they want you to see.

Sorry about the quality, I created a video with my phone so the scan rate was an issue. But the graphics are really good. It is based n the Alps around Mont Blanc. You can Paraglide, snowboard, fly bird suits and of course most importantly ski.

There are several modes for viewing GoPro Helmet, GoPro Selfie, and GoPro Drone. it is lots of fun for sure!

We have had a lot of fun with the open beta. One day left. Best skiing game I have ever played. My son gets upset with some of the challenges since they require lots of controller skill and he has a lot more than I.

Thanks for posting those vids. We also saw a couple others on you tube. My sons were blown away and of course I want to break down and get a gaming system so we can play it. But my wife is adamantly opposed and I don't think she's going to budge...

It looks like they're going to have a PC version available but we have a mac. So maybe I'll "accidentally" pour coffee into the mac (somehow) so we'll have to get a new computer, and while we're at, I'll casually suggest we switch to a PC.

Yes, that's it, that's the plan!

Sounds like a good plan.

We never had an issue with gaming systems. We make sure that our son has lots of other this to do as well. He is heavily involved in sports, we ski a ton, he dirt bikes, he hikes with us, belongs to Civil Air Patrol, in in band, etc. So gaming is a smallish part of his life. I do think it has helped him with flying lessons.

My modest gaming PC just turned 5 years old, looks like it just barely meets the minimum requirements to run this. Skipped the beta but watched some of the youtube vids. Might pick it up in the spring for $30.

Yeahhhh......to meet the recommended specs for this game, you're looking at a $700 to $1000+ PC depending on what kind of deal you get. Not including monitor.

Yeah...one of the cheapest possible is here, for a hair under $600, just barely makes the recommended spec. Not including operating system, or a solid state drive or monitor:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/builds

PC gaming is great and pretty popular, but it's hard to beat a $300 console that runs all the games and takes a while to become obsolete. I'm into my current PC for about $800, it's five year old, and it will barely run most new games. It will run this Steep game, but on low graphics settings and might struggle with lag or frame rates. It's going to be $1K+ to replace it with something that will run top games well for several years.

Seriously, just get a refurbished xbox one for $179.99:
