Here's some I took about a month age. I think even Greg would say this is "legit terrain". ;-)

No complaints on the width, or lack thereof, that's for sure. Now as long as they don't groom the piss out of it, it should be a great run! ;) What's the aspect on that? Southeast? Should get a lot of sun and will be awesome in the spring.

From what I heard it is not going to be groomed that often. You will need a winch cat to do it. You would have to take it down the hill to kids campus and then up the 2.5 mile intermediate trail to access it. Way to long of a trip to bring that cat over often.
It will be a no fall zone when it is groomed though.

It gets sun all day long. Great for those cold morning not so good in the spring. I think it will be the first trail closed.

Thanks HPD. Looks like a killer run, you must be psyched. Will it have snowmaking?

It's unfortunate that WF is over five hours from home, a bit too far for just a weekend for my liking. Someday I'll get there though

They brought the snowmaking pipes up that trail. Originally it was not going to but it is now. They should be blowing snow on it this year. Oh I can wait for the man made snow storm in there.

A run that sweet should be left for natural snow...

Why? If they make snow on it, it will obviously be open alot more.

Given its aspect, it seems like you'd have to make snow on it to get it open consistently. I think a trail like that with minimal grooming can work - kinda like Annapurna at Hunter. Pretty narrow, but has snowmaking and is rarely if ever groomed. Imagine the treat that run would be midwinter on a warmish (say 30 degree) sunny day?

I dont know fellows, Whiteface is going to have the steepest tail in the east this winter. Lookout below drops 800 vert in about 3/10 of a mile. You bumpers better learn to set an edge before you try this one.
The have the poles are in and the expansion is looking wonderful There intermediate run would be a diamond at most other areas.

What degree steepness is that..800 vert over the length of 3/10th of a mile..(1500+ feet) would be over 50%..but I'm not good at converting that into degrees..it might be too steep for a decent bump run

Damn, that does look steep. That looks like Ripcord at Mount Snow steep but for much much longer. Looks like it has some double fall line too.

Don't need snowmaking? See all those rocks? A good manmade base will be necessary.
