Attention Skiers and Boarders: NY wants to tax you more...

A proposal to surcharge lift tickets lessons and other activities up to 8% tax has been advanced by Governor Patterson. It's so nice to feel wanted.

Problem is, it conflicts with the 18% obesity tax he also wants.

They're taxing everythin they can think of---bowling, gym memberships, golf memberships, skiing, so on, and so on.....

New York is seriously out-of-control when it comes to taxes.

My wife and I considered a move to the Syracuse area a few years ago until we saw that state, county and local taxes would have been over $10,000 per year on a $300K house.

Crazy!

I'll just ski more in VT..I only ski in NY a few days a year as it is..
