I'm planning on heading up there this weekend, any tips?

Also, does anyone know what the price of a single day weekend lift ticket is going to set me back?

Bring some $$$

I believe Stowe's single day ticket is over $70 now.
If you like cruising laps, ride the gondola. If you like steeps, try Lord, Goat, Star etc. If you like backcountry, suck up to a local ;)

Stowe advice: have fun and write a ski report for us here.

Stowe ticket price: best to try and buy offsite because as you have learned already, Stowe thinks that they are of such high calibur that they "don't have to advertise their day rates" for holidays or weekends.

I've heard it is $67-75 or so. Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news.

any other winter, I'd tell you to bring lots of layers and heating pads. not this year.

Not much apres-skiing; you can ski your brains out, never wait in a line. I usually fell asleep eating dinner I got so much skiing in.

tickets no cost much:

Daily ticket prices at Stowe are ridiculous. Depends on what you like to ski but I'd probably start with the 4-runner quad. Lord, North Slope, and Standard are "generally" groomed blues. Gulch is an intermediate trail with some bumps. Hayride is used for races and is usually kept in good shape and groomed, fairly steep single black. That's about as much as I can handle at my stage of development. So I've not tried any of the more challenging stuff, though Liftline really looks like it wouldn't be that hard with good conditions. Perry Merril is a relatively gentle blue off the gondola, gondolier is a bit steeper. Chin clip is a black bump run that I've not been on. I tend to think the blues off the 4-runner quad are more interesting. Spruce is South facing and we often migrate over there as the day goes on. Main Street off the Sensation quad is a blue with some surprisingly steep, albeit relatively short shots. Sterling is a winding natural snow trail with less pitch, but it's only good if natural snow is good. The food in the lodges is way overpriced. Jose's Cantina in the Midway (by the Gondola) lodge is decent. The Matterhorn is an excellent apre ski bar. We really like both the Mexican restaurants (Miguels Stowe Away and Cactus Cafe) - tough to recommend one over the other. Gracies offers excellent American style pub grup (great onion rings), Pie in the Sky has very good pizza (I've heard Piecasso (SP?) is good but haven't tried it). Tratorria La Festa has very good Italian food in a comfortable setting -- not cheap but not out of line, either. If it's foggy on top or very windy the Triple can give you a more comfortable, albeit slower, ride than the quad. Have fun and hope you get decent weather.
