Not quite sure how they were able to get the Spruce Peak skating rink relo'd to Hayride overnight...?!?

Hayride's a lot of fun today... not completely dialed, but edge-able. The skating rink is in no man's land and totally avoidable.

Why is Stowe ski patrol yelling at people putting skis on at the top of the gondola at the end of the day to ski down while there's easily 4x the number skinning up?

How is the base in the trees? I realize its probably rock hard but with some snow i assume the trees are back in....

Base is good depending on exposure. It needs to soften and should be good for a while. Incoming snow will help.

Feels like today’s system is an over perform. Had to leave as it was just cranking up on the hill, but must be 4 already in town.
Hopefully 4 in town means 8+ on the hill!

Sunday looks like it won't be as much of a hit as it did last night. But if we can overperform our way to double digits tonight (and it just might) then missing out on double digits Sunday won't be as big of a deal. Still should be a good refresher.

Great day & week overall. Skied from 1st chair till about 10, before heading back to NJ. By 10, the slopes were getting scraped. Today's snow is really going to help bury the rock-solid surface from Tuesday's freeze.

Run of the day was Hayride, again. Last night's groom really dialed in the cord TTB for some great early laps...

Hayride and Nosedive were both really fun. Liftline a bit more sporty but not bad about half way down.

Some very light mist and virga in town. Imagine this stuff should bond nicely.

Eagerly watching the trail report today. Hoping to see the nats opening up this morning. Right now the snow report says 72 open trails and 74 groomed trails, so hopefully someone enjoys whatever reserved groomed trails they apparently have 😆

NWS has tomorrow back up to 6-12".

What the hell is happening to this storm :/

I hope the higher elevations don't end up all crusted over tomorrow. What a shitty development.

Ya, go East young man, Stowe will suck tomorrow lol !
By 10 it’ll be the best high speed groomers of the year, but you should go find the Pow Stash in the Woods in Maine. Or May I suggest Tucks !

Not too bad! Very thin crust on top of anything untracked. Need to put slightly more effort into the turns in those areas. Anything tracked out is sweet! Need more folks to get in here and stir it up a bit.

Ended up being a pretty fantastic day...glad I didn't reroute elsewhere or stay home on account of the mixed precip.

More heavily skied woods like Nosedive Gaper Woods were best early as the crust was broken up and really bonded well with the hardpack underneath. Stuff like S-53 woods got better as the day went on as more people skied it. Occasional areas of scraped off hardpack, and you had to be careful not to go careening into untracked snow as it would grab at your skis, but staying in tracked areas really made for fantastic runs. Dealing with the fog kind of sucked, especially since it was thickest right at Haychute and the first pitch on Liftline was pretty sketchy, so had to pick your way down.

I didn't really hit a whole lot of nats, but the few I skied were actually a lot of fun. Did multiple runs on Hacketts and Goat, both of which had some deeper crispy powder between rock solid frozen bumps. I found them to be more fun than shitty. Chin Chip was similar also. Never made it to Starr or Lookout which is rare for me.

Woods off Chin Chip were a bit more sketchy with the southern exposure. Stuff closer to the top was fine, but the lower half was a mix of that crust plus it was a little mankier, just not really all that fun. I ended up not venturing into the Kitchen because I was afraid it would also be a bit sketchy.

Groomers were variable, I think based on the time they groomed them last night. Felt like stuff like Lord, North Slope, and Perry Merrill must've been groomed closer to this morning because they were had some of the best packed powder I've skied all year. Nosedive and Hayride seemed to be weirdly rutted and a little slick but not too bad.

Forecast looks good through the weekend with more snow and cold temps, so get up here! What a nice recovery from multiple rainstorms and 60+ degree days in the past couple weeks.

Torn between Stowe and Jay tomorrow, not that I could really go wrong with either...

A little tired today...perfect time for a Sensation bonus day on a cloudless 30 degree day. Incredible.
