Stratton Mountain
Chopped Granular, fresh gun snow
My daughter Rachel had the day off from school so we decided to check-out Stratton. We didn't arrive till 11:00 AM, I picked-up my X-2 pass and a pass for Rachel, we decided to eat lunch. We hit the slopes at around noon. There weren't alot of trails open yet and only 3 lifts running.
The lifts they were operating were the Gondola, American Express, and the Ursa Express.
We used the Gondola and the Ursa Express.
We warmed up on Mike's Way to the East & West Meadows. We moved over to Black Bear which was open. All of the open trails had plenty of snow cover. The amazing thing was the lack of skiers. We never waited in line and hardly saw anyone on the mountain. In fact we only shared a Gondola cabin once. We were all alone on the Ursa Express as well.
Trails were getting scraped off towards the end of the day, but there was plenty of product on both sides of the trails.
