Resort or Ski Area: Sugarbush (Lincoln Peak side)
Conditions: Very, very cold. The snow is actually in pretty good shape where they have blown it. Otherwise, it is pretty thin coverage still, even though every trail is open.
Trip Report: Went with four friends for Jeep Appreciation Day (read: free tix). We probably only skied about 3 1/2 hours total in two shifts because of the cold. The groomers were in great shape and the run to the skiers' right of Lynx Chair was under snowmaking, which meant the visibility was tough but the conditions were a lot of fun. Because two members were beginners and because of the cold wind, we never made it up to Heavens Gate or Castlerock, but we were told that they were "skiing well." Considering the tough winter so far, conditions exceeded expectations. It also helped that the slopes were almost empty of other people (the benefit of subzero skiing).
