Good call! No worries..you can add it there or here. Wonder if their lifts will be on the infamous and mysterious 'windhold' that day?

And guess who can go that day?

good call with a seperate thread. non-regular SB skiers like me are likely not watching that thread but would be interested in this deal. i believe they have done this a few years in a row but i have yet to take advantage. given SB's normal prices  this is a steal. i definitely would ski SB more if it wasn't for their outrageous day ticket pricing. most SB skiers are overnighters so it's not like the management cares. while i originally cheered locals buying SB from ASC, in retrospect i see it as being too bad because an A41 pass would be a steal with sugarbush on the ticket.

It would be also be awsome waiting in 1:00 plus lines for castlerock on weekends. So its a lose/lose sitution, either pay a lot of money and have it kinda crowded or get a cheap pass but it be a total zoo.

There are Sugarbush discount tickets around. The ones I get through my club are direct to the lifts which is awesome just put on the ticket with a tie-wrap and go. Last year S'bush sold discount tickets to locals through sport shops and food stores that were mainly in the Burlington area.

The relative lack of weekend crowds at Sugarbush is awesome.

Hopefully the Bushies won't wander off their thread and read this because they already know their mountain is one of the best in the East and I don't want their heads getting any bigger  .

Pricey or not Sugarbush is one hell of a mountain. Lotta talk in here about areas that are decidedly second and third tier. I'm not into bashing other mountains but I will engage in fair, good faith, comparative analysis and when I do, Sugarbush always comes out at or near the top. When you add in its proximity to MRG and the whole "Valley Vibe" the package just gets sweeter. There are only three or four mountains in Vermont that can lure me away from Whiteface and the 'Bush is one of 'em. Honestly guys, for those of you who think the "Sratkemos" and "Mount Snicos" are where it's at, drive a little further North (in Vermont or New York) and you will be rewarded.

....if the "Valley Vibe" could be bottled and sold many of the world's problems could be solved with just a sprinkle here...a sprinkle there....

$52 still isn't exactly a deal

I think $52 is cheaper than weekend rack rate. I get lift tickets cheaper through my club, but $52 for a lift ticket for mountain the size of Sugarbush isn't too shabby. I'm sure there are better deals out there.

1) They have done this the last few years.

B) I have snuck out of our thread room to check this one out.

III) Oooh! My head is getting so big I'll probably need another helmet!

Nice! The vibe is one of those things you can't describe or explain to people who have not been here for more than 5 minutes. Like many, it was a conscious choice to move here, not an accident.

There are several places around New England for the Bush where you purchase discounted tiks. They are not dated so you can buy them in advance.

For many reasons offering discounted tickets at the resort would be cutting your own throat. Same as at the movie theater, Disney World, the list goes on and on. Since I know your going to ask here are a couple.

It would reduce the value of a season pass, reduce the incentive to go off site which would upset the off site vendors who use the program to get new customers to come thru the door, reduce the value of both the resorts and area lodges ski/stay packages.

No disrespect intended but offering discounted lift tickets at the resort, that would be lame from a business perspective. :D

Huhh? offering a discount annoys you?

Seriously, don't complain, take advantage of it. Off site discounts are used all over the ski industry. When I am at Snowbird, I buy my tickets at Smith's grocery store. (no comments from DMC, BTW if I did, I wouldn't have to buy tix)The Sugarbush tix are sold at Hannafords, the Ski Haus in Salem NH and many other places. It is a great way to entice someone ot come to your resort.

The last place you will find a discounted ticket is when you buy at the mountain on the day you are skiing. There are discounts, coupons and web deals out there if you look for them. Last year Stowe offered a 10% discount on multi-day passes if you purchased 72 hours in advance.

An interesting tie in promo was with Harpoon beer and Sunapee / Okemo. If you bought a 12-pack you get a $15.00 discount coupon for a lift ticket. I could never figure out if I was getting a discounted lift ticket or free beer.

BTW Sugarbush does have a pretty good deal with the Mt Ellen only ticket if you are looking to save a few bucks and want to ski a big mountain

I think that his overall point was that he'd prefer cheaper rates at the mountain than 'hidden discounts.' Am I right? :-?
