Bill Swain said:Sugarloaf/USA Makes First Snow of the Season
CARRABASSETT VALLEY, ME, October 6, 2004 - Making the most of high
elevation and northern geography, Sugarloaf/USA turned on the snow guns on
Oct. 6 for the first time of the 2004-05 season. Sugarloaf's snowmakers made
snow on The Landing trail for approximately 8 hours for a full pressure test
of newly installed lines.
Although Wednesday's snowmaking was only a test, just the sight of snow was
embraced by anxious skiers and riders. "There's nothing like a little snow
to get you excited for the winter season," said Scott McQuade, Sugarloaf's
brand manager. "The momentum is building for what is already shaping up to
be a terrific season."
Sugarloaf plans to open for the season on Friday, Nov. 19. Full-scale
snowmaking operations will resume anytime weather permits after Nov. 1 to
begin building a base in time for opening day.
Also Wednesday, Sugarloaf unveiled its newly redesigned website. The new
site is built to be easier to navigate, provide more up to date information,
photos, and videos, and simplify the on-line vacation planning process. The
new site can be toured by visiting: www.sugarloaf.com.
