I'd like to ski on Wednesday the 13th--my birthday. Anyone have a favorite inn or motel that is running an early season ski & stay rate? The problem is, I can only stay over 1 night. Then it's back to work for me.

Well, the Hampton Inn in Littleton, NH offers pretty attractive ski and stay packages for 2 people. There doesn't seem to be much action around there but the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable and they offer servicable continental breakfest that'll at least get you up the hill. As I recall I think the options were Cannon for about $149 / night, Bretton was about $169/night. And I think they also offer a package with skiing at Burke. Not sure any of these places have much terrain that would interest you at this point in the year.

Most places require 2n/2d for ski packages, even mid-week. Having said that there definately are exceptions to that rule especially if you wait till a couple of days before you go.

The wife and I have stayed a couple of times at the Happy Bear on the kmart access rd you might give them a shot. Here in the MRV I would try the Golden Lion, has had a bad rap until new owners took it over a couple of years ago. Good luck

i think parkers in north woodstock has a super cheap mid-week ski and stay deal for cannon. if you don't mind a hostel, hikers dice in gorham gets you quick access to wildcat. i think VT would offer better skiing and more open terrain but not as many cheap lodging deals around these parts.

Steve, I have a brochure for Parker's but it's the one in Lincoln, NH. They have some great Cannon and Loon packages. For example, $49 ski & stay midweek at Cannon and $75 at Loon. Just to stay for a night midweek is $34.

I'm going to wait until the weekend and see who has what open, then book next week.

(I called Stratton and even though they advertise $99 ski & stay on the weekend, they couldn't put me in anything under $94 for 1 midweek night...and that was just for lodging. Forget that.)
