Hey all,

It almost felt like summer today..and as much as I love skiing..there is alot of fun to be had in the summer. What fun summer plans do you have for the summer? After my ski season is over I'm going to visit my sister and her husband in Washington DC. I haven't been there in a decade and I want to hit up The Zoo, The Air and Space museum, a really good deli in their neighborhood and some hot nightspots. I'd also like to go to the beach at some point and maybe enter a few poker tournements in AC. My parents rented a house in Lake Anna VA in July which should be a good time. I need to get myself into shape for hanging around the Lake with no shirt..

My running program is going to start soon..running isn't necassarily fun but it burns off a shit-ton of calories. I also plan on doing some hiking on the Appalachian Trail with some PASRs. Maybe a few fun drunken nights at the clubs and some BBQs as well. I can party more when I don't have to wake up at 6:30AM to ski. I'll also play some golf with my Dad and probably Atomic Jeff as well.

Last summer I broke my ribs resulting in lots of care and sympathy. I may give that another whirl.

Actually, I'd like to build serious windsurfing skills. I have a catamaran but no place to dock/beach it. I'll probably sell that since it takes to long to rig at the launch for the few hours that I have to play with it.

Get my knee stronger.
Hopefully I can play lots of golf and ride my bike. Lake time is very important as well.

My family has a beach home in Virginia, so I always am willing to be a beach bum.

After we find somewhere to move and actually move... planning on hiking and biking (both the tame rail trail stuff with the kids in the bike trailer and some mild mountain biking - I'm not into the crazy stuff). Would be nice to get out kayaking a couple of times, too. Brian's dad has a few kayaks and we're free to use them when we want (provided he's not using them with his clients).

On the fence about getting my motorcycle license and a bike, possibly go to Alaska depending on what my parents end up doing. Make up for lost time at work due to skiing and get ahead for next winter.

Get on my bike (of the unpowered variety) more. Goal is 35 lbs by next winter, and to save some gas money in one shot by starting to do the 16 mile commute on bike.

And enjoy my summer tires. I don't know if anyone else noticed the insane number of troopers on I-91 in Mass on Sunday, but I bet I was the only one pulled over for speed on an on-ramp. No ticket, I think all he could do was put the generic "speeding" offense down if he wanted to give me one. Changed my opinion about Mass troopers, though (nice guy, unlike the other one who threatened destruction of property.)

Well, we're moving. Hopefully we'll be buying a condo, if we don't get a deal we like, then renting again for a bit until the right opportunity surfaces. If we buy, I'll probably be spending a lot of my free time renovating, which will be fun.

Other than that, lots of body boarding at new beaches. Hopefully this summer has some decent waves. Last summer was a bit of a dud compared to the year prior.

....A music festival or two

LOTS of work. July and August are my busiest months of the year. I pretty much make or break my year in sales those two months. It kinda sucks as I do enjoy having free time in the summer. That said, I enjoy it more in winter.

Lotsa yard work. Would like to get out for some hikes and maybe a backpacking trip or two. We'll be cooler camping in SoVT over the July 4th weekend. Off to the Cape for a week at the end of July. Other than that, lots of beer.

I'd like to get out there and do some real hiking. I may head up to VT for this. May ask Trailboss for a tour. Otherwise, I'm near the beach, so I'll be catching up on some ocean kayaking. I'll also be finding some work during my summer vacation.
