Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA unveil The Maine Pass
Combined season pass will go on sale on or before Wednesday, Aug. 15

NEWRY, Maine (July 19, 2007) – Maine’s two largest ski and snowboard resorts, Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA, are pleased to announce a combined season pass for the upcoming winter season. The new Maine Pass will go on sale on or before Wednesday, Aug. 15.

“We’re pleased to offer a value priced season pass valid at both Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA,” said Dana Bullen, president and managing director of Sunday River. “Skiers and riders used to sampling more than one resort won’t have to choose between the eight peaks of Sunday River or the snowfields at Sugarloaf/USA. With the Maine Pass they can have both, while also enjoying perks at our new sister resorts out west.”

The Maine Pass is a tiered season pass with three levels. The Bronze Maine Pass is $299 and is an all ages pass valid midweek non-holiday. The Silver Maine Pass is $499 and is an all ages pass valid seven days a week with 12 blackout dates on holidays and select Saturdays. The Gold Maine Pass is valid every day of the season and ranges from $399 for seniors to $799 for adults. The full list of products and prices is available at www.sundayriver.com and www.sugarloaf.com.

Current early purchase rates are in effect until the fall deadline of Oct. 15, at which point rates on all products will increase. Maine Student Passes are also being offered beginning by Aug 15. College Student Season Passes will be announced at a later date.

“The Maine Pass is all about value,” said John Diller, president and managing director of Sugarloaf/USA. “The Maine Pass offers flexible pricing options, diverse terrain and dependable snowmaking. Since Maine skiing offers less crowds, big mountains and great snow, we’re anticipating a positive response from New England skiers and riders.”

Skiers and riders who purchase a Maine Pass will receive additional benefits including retail discounts at the Resorts and free or discounted skiing at Boyne USA resorts in the U.S. and Canada including Big Sky in Montana, Brighton in Utah, Crystal Mountain in Washington, Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands in Michigan, and Cypress Mountain in British Columbia.

Sunday River and Sugarloaf/USA are both projected to open in mid-November and operate well into April.

I think it's a good product, but of course I am biased. :)

I am excited, in the last 24 hours I went from looking at an attitash/crotched pass to being excited about a ragged unlimited and maine silver pass for roughly the same amount of money.

I am also excited about passholder benefits at brighton.

No doubt I was buying these at anytime. Very happy that it has a reasonable price and I think many bronze pass holder friends from last year will buy the silver and be back.

Sorry Mishka, not crying for you. I see that you are the same distance from Sunday River that I am from Killington. I'm in Killington almost every weekend. You should go for it, tough deal to beat, even if you only go 10 times, it's worth it.

it is difficult to justify five -- six hour driving alone each way for day trip when I can make Canon, WildCat or even Magic in 3.5 this is more feasible... .I am not complaining already have WaWa mid week Pass. Killington or SR will be going on the bus with the New England Action Sport

Granted, Sugarloaf may be a ride. But Sunday River is not that much further from Wildcat. And don't make it a day trip, plenty of inexpensive hotels in Gorham.
