Good morning. Weather finally looks as though it is going to cooperate this week for the teams that works outside every day. I hope everyone appreciates their hard work in the tough weather conditions the past couple of weeks.

Construction of the Chondola and installation of power for Boyne fan guns and 12 hour skiing are both still on schedule.

The assumption that there may eventually be a building to house the Gondola cars at the top of the lift is correct. That building is not planned for this year but sighting the location was obviously a needed component of the lift.

FYI, you have this one pic labeled as possibly being the engine from the double. It's actually the gear box, the engine (more likely electric motor) would connect to that pulley on the front with a belt and the bull-wheel would connect to the large shaft coming out of the bottom. The gear in front of the pulley was likely how the APU (auxiliary power unit, usually a gas or diesel engine) was connected, via chain, in the event of the primary mover being disabled (power outage, or whatever).

The fall line double had been rumored to be removed. It has been taken down or is in the process of. JSM pictures tell more.

. My daughter liked it so she could get to Barker without having to take the south ridge quad.

Might be okay with the new Chondola

. I'm wondering if that migth be a route back to southride during night turns. A few had hoped/ suggested the fall Line double get taken to the base of Jordan to give a way back to the hotel on wind hold days and also be a commuter lift that would get Jordan hotel folk across that area early and late season to the other communter lift that bring you to the base of aurora.

I'll miss weaving the Fall Line Double's poles when coming back to South Ridge from points beyond, but damn, I have to agree it would be a very good idea to use it for the Jordan Grand, a la the Grand Summit's little lift and tiny trails.

I just got home from Canada where I saw the other terminal machinery at the Doppelmayr CTEC factory in Saint-Jerome Quebec. Half of the elements were already on flatbed trucks in the yard, ready for shipping, along with some tower head lifting frames and crated parts. The other elements were on the factory floor in a enormous jig the mechanics use to pre-set all of the terminal components. It was at floor level so I able to walk through the "tunnel" with my head where the grips go. It is a big lift, very long. Apparently the enclosure will come from Wolfurt Austria.

I'm very-very sorry I forgot my camera.

The chopper is working today. I just saw it up near the top, it appears they are using it to deliver concrete to mid lift footings.
