Date(s) Skied: 3/20/07

Resort or Ski Area: Ski Sundown

Conditions: Re-frozen loose granular and hard-pack

Trip Report: When I showed up for work at 5:30 the conditions looked really good. The sun had softened up the snow in the base area to a nice consistency, almost spring like. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get out on the hill until 8:30 when the snow had setup to be pretty firm. I skied the Nor'Easter bumps exclusively right up until last chair. It was challenging with some slick spots re-appearing on the back-sides of some bumps and the re-frozen chunks of snow that was kicked up be skiers lucky enough to be able to ski the bumps when they were still soft that had turned into death cookies and marbles. I felt OK through the bumps, but not great. I was able to make a few top to bottom runs without stopping in the middle of the bumps which was the goal I set for myself again. My legs were really feeling it by the last run for some reason, I think it might have had something to do with this cold I came down with though.

I think it's supposed to be a bit warmer tonight, so hopefully the snow will remain softer longer for the guys planning on heading out tonight...

Thanks for the update. Lots of cover in there. Those bumps were pretty much done by this point last year...

I didn't see anything that even resembled thin cover anywhere on the mountain. :D
