A brand new 2009 one of these:

Seems like a lot of groomer for a hill the size of Sundown and it's the first brand new groomer they've ever had. According to Chris Sullivan, "it will make a lot of things easier including seeding bumps on steep terrain." Rad! Great to see the mountain doing well and reinvesting.

Pisten Bully's are really cool!

Side note: I have a red car, a red lawn tractor, a red push mower, a red snowblower, so generally speaking if it runs on gas/diesel and is red in color, I'm a fan of it ;)

That is some serious groomer stoke that leads to increased ski jonesing.

Yea Greg:

A couple of years ago Camelback bought a winch cat and you would say what the heck do they need that for? But what these new cats do is allow the ski area to push snow up the mountain even on extreme steeps. The bump skiing has gotten so much better since.

I was in the area of Sundown last night and on my way down 219 a flatbed truck passed going the other direction with one of Sundown's old groomers disassembled on the back. I guess they're making room for the new one. :D

Kill what? The old groomer? I'm guessing that they managed to sell it to someone else, so burning it wouldn't be prudent.

I've always wanted a groomer. It's part of my PowerBall Fantasy. A groomer would go nicely with a few hundred acres of land up in VT.

To all the CT Sundown haters who are "too good" for the place. Let's wait for the bumps to get set up and we'll hold a little unofficial impromptu bump comp. The Sundown CLIT crew will OWN you!!!

I believe the SLAM was actually directed at the word STEEP (although it does seem that way when pedaling up the back side of Ratlum Mt.)

Some retro bump skis to make up for it.....
