The one thing that I distinctly remember about my first visit to Sundown was a Gunbarrel packed with moguls from top to bottom and that I had alot of fun in them at a younger age and without lower back pain.

Well, skier's right of Gunbarrel is being left ungroomed for the remainder of the season. Yesterday was a perfect line formation day, but unfortunately Brian and I saw nothing that resembled moguls on it. We need a group of 10 AZers or so with some skill to hit that for about 2 hours on a mashed potatoes day. Hard to pull yourself away from Temptor on a day like that though...

I have zero issues with the lift speed. I dont even want to be able to get back to the top in 2 minutes. I'm just not in that big of a rush nor do i need to pack as many runs into my time frame as possible. The only lifts that drive me crazy exist at killington, specifically the skye peak quad and the snowden chairs.

those are ridiculous.

That and the South Ridge Cripple particularly on a cold and windy day.

Had I known that I would have started on it, but I thought they where going to groom it all overnight at the very least. I am not a big fan of the right side as the left side has more pitch IMO but bumps are bumps.

Skier's right receives more sun and softens quicker so it's actually the better side for spring skier-generated moguls.

Did they seed the side of Gunny??

I'm waiting on a powhunter report. It sounded like they were able to see some bumps on Gunny from the lift. I asked them to ski it.

If they saw bumps then they must of been seeded, you saw how flat it was when you left last night and it was already pretty firm...

I know. Ungroomed, but flat as a pancake. Of course, when pow and poacher get together their vision gets a bit hazy... ;)

I would love a two minute lift ride on quiet days to lap the bumps, but it would definitely put too many people on the hill at once when it's busy. Are there any sub-1K hills with HS lifts?

Seven Springs, PA has probably 600 vert on the front side of the mountain and they have a high speed 6.

The place is a zoo, but not too bad. Mainly because people don't go their to ski, they go their to PARTY. One huge drunk fest at that mountain...er um hill.

 WTF was the dude on SJ talking about then???

Dunno. Doesn't sound like he was a mogul nut or anything. Apparently, anything ungroomed is bumps...

I guess, but you can barely tell it's ungroomed.... Eh, whatever, as long as Temptor is looking good...

I can also confirm there is nothing that resembles moguls on Gunbarrel. It appears they left the right side ungroomed. There are a couple piles there, but nothing that I would call a mogul. It was perfect conditions there that if a bunch of people ran some lines they would form, but there probably was on 20 people there when I left at 4.

I know that dude on SJ. He's definitely not a mogul nut. An older guy (50s-60s) who only skis groomers & is really into racing. I loved how Greg just called him on pretty much everything he said ( especially "95% of us don't ski moguls"). Anything ungroomed to that guy is "moguls".
