Yeah, the DB that posted that FB thread is a gem. He really can't get off his high horse. I think it is reasonable considering the snowmaking improvements, trail and glade clearing and future improvement plans moving forward. Can't make that happen on pennies coming in.

They've had heavy equipment working on hill and in the lodge right up til this week. Wizard hat is getting expanded and will be a coffee & donut place. 5 miles of new pipe, much of it replacing older stuff. Repeating last years KaBoom snowmobile show and apparently gonna be a stop on the resurrected World Pro Ski tour.....right alongside a place where the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. A little place called Aspen. 😁

Yep, just finished up last week. New pumps, new (replacement) feed from there to a new booster station, new feeds from there to top of double and triple. They did add pipe to Edelweiss as an easier route off the top.

Just read on their socials that they have the Men's and Women's World Pro ski Tour making a stop at Tenney the weekend of March 14-16th! Good for them to get an event like this that will get them some additional exposure!

Looks like the Hornet is still having issues and will be down for a few more days. Bummer. Was planning to go there Sunday.

An Update On The Hornet Double

The Tenney Team has been working diligently to develop a solution to get the Hornet Double Chair back up and running as quickly as possible. Given the complexity of this lift’s specialized gearbox, sourcing parts and service providers has been a challenge—but we’re making progress.

We’re pleased to share that we have identified a clear path forward. The gearbox will undergo a full refurbishment to restore it to “like new” condition, ensuring the lift operates safely and reliably. This process involves a complete teardown, inspection, and replacement of worn components. While it requires removing and shipping the gearbox for service—a significant undertaking—we are committed to seeing it through as efficiently as possible. Based on current timelines this work will take longer than anticipated, but we remain hopeful that the Hornet will be operational mid-March to finish the season strong.

In the meantime, to ensure guests continue to enjoy the mountain, we are reducing lift ticket prices to $50 for all ages, all day. We also recognize the impact this has on our dedicated passholders and are actively working on solutions for the 2024/25 season—stay tuned for updates.

While this setback is not what any of us wanted, we are committed to building an even stronger future for Tenney. Over the next five years, we have exciting plans for growth, investment, and improvements both on and off the mountain. We can’t wait to share more about our vision and the enhancements that will elevate your skiing and riding experience. Thank you for your patience and support—we’re just getting started.

Great transparency though. Get it fixed now and that's 1 more thing off the list.

Just like with Magic, there's going to be shit that breaks at these places thst are being resurrected.
