It's sad but true. I bet though that a large majority of the skiers/riders who care are actually making changes reduce their impact. Problem is the other 90% of the world doesn't give a poop. It pisses me off and I see it first hand. I work in a well recognized investment bank with some big shots running around, the amount of things they waste and don't think twice about kills me. It's going to take a long time but hopefully everyone will wake up someday.

On the bright side, K-town has snow and I'm heading up there in an hour :-D
