I think it depends on the agency. I know when I lived in Ohio, I flew back to New England into Hartford and rented a car for the week. I told the agency I was taking the car to visit friends and family in Mass, ME, NH and VT and they had no issues with it. Only state the vehicle didn't see was RI.

It depends on the agency and the agreement. I used to work somewhere that rented cars and the agreement said that you weren't supposed to take the car out of CT.

I'll be racking up the frequent flyer miles this winter...so far it looks like either Utah or CO in Jan, Snowbasin, Keystone, and Snowbird in Feb, Jackson Hole and another Utah stop in March...also hope to get to Tahoe...that may happen in Dec. I'll have plenty of other work trips to much less exciting locations that won't involve bringing my ski boots.

Well since Ill be living and working in Jackson permanently as of Oct 1st, I wont really need to travel much to ski. However, since even Jackson gets boring every once and a while Ill be making the trip up to Big Sky once, plus a spring trip to Denver once Jhole closes. Maybe a trip to Salt Lake? Who knows, but there will be a few trips over the pass to Targhee early and late season as well.

Also, since alot of people here seem to be planning trips out to Jackson this winter, feel free to drop me a pm. Ill be more than happy to show you around the mtn for a day or two while your out here. Ill show you the real Jackson Hole.

Out West...Same as last year: Brundage Mountain, Idaho (hopefully two trips this year) and Alta/Snowbird/Solitude, Utah. Free lodging, relatively cheap tickets, and great snow ...can't talk myself into going somewhere else.

Here in the East...I'll probably end up back at Hunter a decent amount (as a car-less New Yorker), but I'm hoping to mix it up a little more this year. My wife booked us a weekend at a fancy resort in Lake Placid, I hope to trek further North into Vermont (Killington is my high water mark after one season out here), and I'd also like to get to some of the more of the off-the-beaten-path places closer to New York (Plattekill, Berkshire East, Magic, etc.).

Too bad its 90 degrees out...

Winter Park in April got nixed, wifey reminded me that were heading to FLA for our niece's wedding on the 4th. Now, Banff/Lake Louise is back in contention. Mass confusion here.

Probably a week in the MRV with a few overnights up there as well. Hope to make it to Lake Placid this season too.

I'm defintley taking a trip out west and in Northern Vermont. I'd like to take a few weekend trips to Whiteface and Magic. I might take another trip up north somewhere during the Thanksgiving or Christmas time.

Generally, I get 12-15 ski days per year. This year I'm trying to double that. For the most part, I try to get the most bang for my buck by taking advantage of good deals.

A friend and I signed up in April for the Wildcat 6 Week Sunday All Mountain program (1/4 thru 2/8 ) (Sweet deal...lift ticket + 2 hour lesson for 6 days... $239) We will definitely be hitting the Red Fox Sunday breakfast buffet on those days.

To get the most of our gas mileage we plan on stretching some of those 6 Wildcat Sundays into 2 day trips. My buddy has a couple of tickets for Waterville Valley and Cannon, so we'll try to use those. Would also like to hit Black(NH) on one of those Saturdays.

We're considering building a multi day trip around one of the Wildcat Sundays from 1/23-1/27. Loaf, Saddleback, Wildcat, Burke, and "Roll back the clock day" at MRG.

I usually take St Paddy's day off and hit one of the areas that has the $17 special.

3 or 4 day weekday bus trips (from Crossed Sabers or Ski Market) Hopefully Stowe, Bush, Sunday River

Probably 2 or 3 days at Bromley ($25 weekday lift tickets, relatives live 1/2 hour away)

Just got the free ticket for WaWa. If there's any decent early season snowfalls, I'll call in sick and use it on a week day.

End of the season weekend at my friend's place in NH. 2 or 3 days skiing around the North Conway area.

Plus, my first ever western ski trip.

2/21-2/28 Staying at the Alta P-Dog. Plan to ski 6 days. Mainly Alta. A day or 2 at Snowbird, possibly a day at Solitude. Being my first time skiing outside NE, I plan on taking at least a couple of powder lessons.

I booked flight a month ago, BOS -> SLC $417
Also booked 7 nights Peruvian dorm bunk (all meals included) $1182
6 day SLC SuperPass (1 day free if purchased by 12/1) $260

I think $1859 is pretty decent for air, 7 nights on-mountain lodging, all meals, and 6 day lift tix.

Depending on snow (and spousal approval), that would give me 25-30 ski days, along with 16-20 hours of instruction, at some of the very best eastern and western ski areas.

For me, that would be an epic season.
