An article in the New York Times tries to draw a geographical line between Yankee and Red Sox country.

I live right on the line. Maybe that's why I'm not much of a baseball fan at all....?

This looks accurate, at least for me. We just bought a house in Southbury. It looks like I can retain my Yankee fan status despite the move.

I know some pretty hardcore Yankee fans in the Chester area... but then again I know a hardcore yankee fan in MA... there are always extremes

Screw CT if they can't make up their minds. ;)

Once again, it's the end of the world as we know it.......these 5 games are huge......

Prediction - the Sox actually manage to win 3 out of 5 and only gain a game. This will go down to the wire in Sept., and unfotunately the Yanks are getting hot and healthy while the Sox are slowly fading. A month ago I would have bet $100 the Yanks would not even go to the playoffs and now they are once again the WS favorites ......

It sucks that God is so obviously a Yankee fan......

Nice to see my Red Sox buddies posting again...you've all been very quiet lately.
Baseball would be so boring without the Yanks/Sox rivalry going down to the wire in September. Hope it stays close until then.

Anyone have any thoughts about Tom Brady being linked to Barry Bonds' personal trainer?
Oh, and even though it's just preseason my Giants looked really good last night. The D could be dominant if they stay healthy.

KC barely put up a fight. But, I hope da Jints do well.

Brady was interviewd last nite here in Boston and said 5 years ago when he was home in CA he called Anderson's gymn to try to reserve a workout and got his answering machine. That was the extent of his contact. Go easy on Brady - he's gonna be your President in 15 years.

Sox and Yanks - baseball Armageddon is back.......Sox sweep today when A-Rod goes 0-8 with 8 Ks and 4 Es.......

Oh, I'm not trashing Brady...I'm trashing the media who take these snippets of info and use them to cast a negative light on anyone they can. Of course, the cheaters like Bonds who use steroids are the ones who are ultimately responsible and without them the media has to go somewhere else for the trash they write.

Through CT I'd say the line is pretty close, Sure I know some Yankee fans east of the line but you see more 'B's are cars than you do NYY

As of Monday the 21st, all I can say is Go Pat's

This blows. 3 weeks ago I was convinced the Sox would actually beat the Yanks for the AL East title for the first time since 1995, and now it's turned into shit. Again. It must be nice being a Yankee fan and winning every single year.

But - Theo says we'll be really, really good in 2007 and 2008 with our amazing nucleus of Beckett, Hanson, Delcarmen, Coco and Wily Mo...........this sucks.

Are you ready for some football - ????????

Chile- You still have close to 40 games left. The A.L. East title is far from gone and you still have the wildcard worse comes to worse. I'm far from calling it a clinch for the Yanks. There's even a three game series in late Sept for the Yanks and Sox that may turn out to be the nailbiter we all would love to see.

I think that line is skewed too far to the west when you get into Northwestern MA. I'm seeing more Yanks fans west of Greenfield now.

Don't get down Chile. Weren't the sox 10 games back in 2004 in the middle of August? Look how that turned out!

I will agree though, their pitching rotation needs a few band-aids until the youngsters mature. I don't think Arroyo was ever the answer, and I quite frankly expected much more out of Beckett who's looking a lot like another Rent-a-wreck. It's tough playing in the pressure cookers of Boston and NYC. I was hoping for another lights-out year from Schilling, but I think he's done. I think he ran that chassis into the ground in 2004, and is now pitching on borrowed time.

Oh he who gives up so easily? How did you handle it in 2004 when the Yanks were leading 3-0 in the ALCS? I'm not buying it.

Too much time left to be celebrating anything. Yanks staff (except for Mariano) is weak and full of holes. Nobody has won anything yet.
