...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TUESDAY TO 2 PM EST
WEDNESDAY...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM TUESDAY TO 2 PM EST
WEDNESDAY FOR THE SOUTHERN AND WESTERN ADIRONDACKS...THE MOHAWK
VALLEY...THE LAKE GEORGE SARATOGA REGION...THE UPPER HUDSON VALLEY
AND SOUTHERN VERMONT. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.
TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 8 TO 16 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
WARNING AREA...WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS EXPECTED ACROSS THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS ACROSS THE ADIRONDACKS AND SOUTHERN VERMONT.
SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TUESDAY MORNING...AND WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES
INTO EARLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THERE COULD BE A BRIEF LULL IN THE
SNOW INTENSITY LATER TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING...BEFORE
HEAVIER SNOW REDEVELOPS SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET TUESDAY EVENING.
OCCASIONAL SNOW WILL THEN PERSIST INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING...BEFORE
GRADUALLY TAPERING TO SNOW SHOWERS BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
EXPECT A QUICK 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOWFALL BY TUESDAY
AFTERNOON...FOLLOWED BY AN ADDITIONAL 5 TO 9 INCHES OF SNOWFALL
TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE SNOW WILL INITIALLY BE
WET IN CONSISTENCY...AND THE WEIGHT OF THIS HEAVY WET SNOW ON TREE
LIMBS COULD LEAD TO DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWERLINES...RESULTING
IN SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES...PARTICULARLY ACROSS HIGHER ELEVATIONS
ABOVE 1500 FEET.
GUSTY WINDS WILL DEVELOP IN THE WAKE OF THIS STORM SYSTEM BY
WEDNESDAY MORNING...RESULTING IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF THE SNOW.
THE SNOW WILL BE THE RESULT OF A DEEPENING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM
WHICH WILL TRACK EASTWARD ACROSS PENNSYLVANIA ON TUESDAY...THEN
MOVE ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND TUESDAY NIGHT. ON WEDNESDAY IT
WILL LINGER IN THE GULF OF MAINE.
A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

you're still thinking about it????i just may have to jet up....
again, why do i live on this island??
I am also thinking MRG for Wednesday. How are the winds looking? Seems like we MRG should be fine as winds have not really entered the discussion yet? Still betting against Jay though but still a tough decision... as I only usually ride the Jet and Bonnie and wind hold on the tram and freezer is only a bonus. Road conditions may be a factor as interstate most of the way is a heck of a lot easier than east-west travel outside a major Route number in NH/VT during a snow storm. Choices choices.Geez. Vouches to Stowe and MRG. Decisions decisions....Prolly Wednesday MRG, Thursday Stowe, as I know Mansfield better and can get untyracked runs a day or two late. What about wind?
it is true...I heard on WDEV that wind will be a factor on Wednesday....
