removing myself from mountain, Killington for me. The question is how many out of staters know this is happening. I have not seen anything in the CT news about this visit, not that I follow a lot of the local news.
yes, everybody should stay home. They are shutting down Mt Ellen, Warren and Flatbread! Lift lines will be all the way to the parking lot. All people will be checked at the 89 exits.
Bring your proof of citisenship and GOP proof of political party card. ;-)

Rumor that they rented out Inverness for the day, and VP family will just lap that. If so, that would make sense and be a reasonable solution.

Vermont holiday week is this week not last, btw. It runs through Town Meeting Day, first Tuesday in March and kids go back on the Weds. It is this way to accomodate NE skiers coming to VT, so the Vermonters can work the mtn during that time.

I have also heard lots of emails going out to employees about a VIP visit this weekend and what to not do and say. So much excitement!

Someone posted that there was a big ski race this weekend on Inverness. Is that not the case?
There isn't anything on the main VARA (VT Alpine Racing Association) which is the governing body for VT youth ski racing, calendar for Sugarbush for this weekend, and the "big Events for youth ski racing right around now are the U14 States which are at Stowe, the U16 States whhich are at Burke, the the Eastern Regional U12 Championships which are at Gunstock, NH

Like I said: FIS slalom races, men and women, juniors to college racers, between 160-220 of them, total, plus coaches from all over the US and Canada, Sunday Monday, Inverness.

VARA does not calendar FIS races, FIS does: https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/event-details.html?sectorcode=AL&eventid=56862&seasoncode=2025

Its all over social media - Reddit, Facebook, IG, TikTok,... Lots of Talk - if 1/4 the amount of talkers show up - it will be a shit show.

My hunch is that at the end of the weekend, 99% of the folks there this weekend will have no clue about the VP and his families presence, and any protesters they may see on their way too/from the mountain they likely won't pay any attention to.

When you dress anyone in relatively non descript ski clothing, helmet and balaclava, it gets mighty tough to recognize them, and I am guessing that any Secret Service agents on the hill are more likely to be dressed like ski school, patrol or mountain staff, than overt Secret Service Agents

I honestly do not know what the big deal is about DST.
All winter, I leave for work in Boston and it is Dark. I come home from work and it is Dark.
I don't care, but hate the earlier spring forward we have now. Means spring crust snow takes til almost 2pm to finally soften up early March now where before when we sprung later, would soften by 1pm.

We don't have that problem at sugarbush. We ski North Linx, castlerock or snowball in the morning that face south. Later in the season sugarbush changes hours to 10 to 5 also.

As a construction person I actually like DST. We get light earlier on the construction site and the afternoon is irelevant because the work is over at 2 or 3.

I'd love to know the bullet points of what not to do or say. I'm assuming that mimicing fucking a couch is a no-no, but I'd still love to see that in writing.

They essentially state to not say anything at all and you don't speak for Sugarbush. PR 101 type stuff but a bit more heightened by the stature of the VIP.
