Hmm...at least based on the webcams seems like they really did turn back on Spring Fling. I thought it had sufficient depth for now when I skied it yesterday so interesting decision. Maybe they simply had extra capacity they wanted to use and with the way the system is designed that was the only place they could really effectively use it given those lines are already charged from Lower Snowball/Racers being online?
Shouldve turned the guns on at the top of ripcord. I took my skis off to get to paradise. Never seen it so sketchy.

skied mt snow friday and then sugarbush saturday. Unfortunately had to drive home immediately after skiing. But the conditions were great. Not just "for December" but legit at any time. Moonshine was fantastic until I got taken out by a mini blazer. Lucky for the little tike I managed to avoid striking him. Middle earth was about as good as it gets.

I’ve been wearing Arc’teryx for 15 or so years so I have gotten used to the pass pockets. It does make it easier. I miss it with my spring jacket. I just use a lanyard around my neck.
I've been wearing an Arcteryx shell for the past 4-5 years. The sleeve pocket is great. The interesting thing to me is the inside chest pocket where I store my phone barely fits my iPhone13Pro. I have to wedge it in there. There's zero chance that a "max" iPhone would fit. Seems like a design flaw to me. Maybe the more recent iterations of the jacket have taken this into account.

Before I started wearing the Arcteryx shell, I had an insulated Eider jacket that had a very subtle pass pocket on the outside of the left wrist. You couldn't fit anything in it other than a pass/credit card and the zipper was hidden. I liked that too.

i really like my norrona jacket. the pass pocket is on the shoulder. i have an inside chest pocket that holds a phone charger, wire, and pair of wired headphones in case my bluetooths crap out. i have dual outer chest pockets with phone in one and weed in the other. then the regular hip pockets, and two internal elastic pouches to shove a hat or a snack in. love my norrona. they were also super awesome abotu doing substantial repairs at a very reasonable nominal price over the summer.

Fun first day out for me. I told myself I wasn't going to ski any natural terrain my first day...but on my 4th run as I'm skiing past Lower Domino I couldn't resist. That snow was so nice and silky smooth.
I'm a huge fan of lower domino. I like that I can practice linking my moguls due to it's easier pitch. It also seems to get passed over by a lot of skiers on their way to HG. I rarely feel like there's more than a handful of folks on it.

I remember telling my kids that Norrona would eventually become the next Arcteryx...mountain gear that makes the mainstream. I was right. I like their stuff a lot as well and will consider them when it comes time for a new jacket.

Side note, Arcteryx had a program this summer/fall where you could bring in your jacket and they would wash it and re-treat it with DWR (durable water repellent) for free. I thought that was pretty awesome and I took adavantage of it. I like hearing that Norrona stands behind their stuff as well.

No guns going on sleeper. Wonder if they had an issue. Saw a cat this morning moving some welding equipment towards the GH side.

Meanwhile the gunpowder on spring fling was delightful. Also decided to head up castle rock. Well worth it. Only rocks I actually hit were on the entrance to the lift lol.
