Now they are selling "The Fifty 8 Reserve" by the day, same thing they did with early ups, once people bought in for the season at full price they started to sell it on a day by day basses, however this was never mentioned to you when you ponied up the full price for the season, just a bad move in my book, live & die on the sword you chose, kind of a slap in the face for the customers that bought in.
However I know it all about the mountain making money, so just change the rules if you don't like the results.

Yeah, not a good look. As you said, it is a money-grab because Alterra's west coast resorts are really SUCKING right now and losing money. Folks who bought the full package will not like this. I bet that this was an edict from on-high and not a local decision.

I spent the week at Burke and the skiing was not bad. The ice event did not do much, if any, damage. Natural snow on and off all week. How was the holiday week at SB?

I will speculate that something is awry on that side of the resort, snowmaking-wise. makes little sense not to have GH finished and at least Birch and the lift going. Cost-cutting? Infrastructure issues? Agreed that without any info the questions arise...

4" reported today, but does the snow sticking to the ruler count now, instead of the level on the board??

Great scene at Walt's After Dark last night. Plenty of locals amid the guests. The ski down in fresh powder as it continued to snow was an added treat.

Glen House needs a serious upgrade and even now it's an underutilized asset. Staff does a terrific job with the gig, though.

They need more ski racks there

I saw none last night but maybe they moved them for the groom? Also could use hooks inside for jackets and helmets.
They also took away the water coolers on both floors this season, just like they did at Allyn's Lodge a few years ago. It kinda flies in the face of the signs on the drinking fountains in the main lodges at both locations. They ask you to use a refillable bottle in the name of conserving resources, but once you are on the hill, you would have to buy a bottle of water. I'm sure it helps EBITDA, but they can't have it both ways- telling us to use our own bottle, but making it unavailable at mid mountain.

I could have sworn I saw free water last night, at least upstairs. Might have been one downstairs as well off to the left.

We are still in a drought. Perhaps they are saving the water for snowmaking.

Are they really only making snow on Birch at LP right now? I thought in the past they typically did Birch and Sunrise at the same time. And there are still a handful of trails outside the NL area they didn't cover yet even if they can't run more on the NL pod at once for some reason. Seems odd to not be taking more advantage of the temps while you still have them. By Tuesday they will likely lose temps on the lower mountain for a while.

Perhaps they're low on water and running at reduced capacity due to that...
