Guns arranged at base of Sunrise on SB webcam. Maybe they will put them out and lay down some snow on Sunrise?

Snow report said scheduled maintenance for GMX, that's some good spin. To their credit though, I think they lowered the minimum temp for Slidey B to run to 5. I recall it was something like 15 a few years ago. 5 is a cold ride.
I think it's been 5 for a while (at least ten years) as far as I can remember. Definitely a cold ride at that temp.

Felt a sharp pop and pain. Knew it instantly. Was hoping for a mid-muscle tear which heals on it's own with PT and rest. But when you tear the tendons that attach the muscle to the bone (either at the pelvis or knee) it most likely needs to be fixed by surgery. I'm sure the doctor will tell me more tomorrow, but my understanding is I can live with this and just rehab it but would most likely be a diminished skier/golfer/athlete to the tune of 25-40% and who wants that?

Get well man. And geez.. I was thinking about going out to shovel my deck today, maybe its safer to let it pile up to four feet instead! 😉

Guys, I greatly appreciate the kind words...

Full disclosure (and to make things even more embarrassing), my youngest was watching Tik Tok videos of people tarping their walkways and driveways and then just dragging or moving the tarps and the underlying surface is magically snow free. She was like, "Dad, we have to try this" and to me, it seemed like an interesting idea. My wife of course, being the intelligent one, said, "if it was so smart why don't we see tons of people doing this in the neighborhood". So off to Home Depot I went and bought a couple of tarps and put them down on the driveway. During a lull in the storm I went out to check on the tarps and try to move one with a neighbor of mine. Got about halfway through but the snow was heavy and the tarp was ripping. After one last heave, that's when the hamstring popped.

I will say, the tarp thing was working. Just too much snow.

Now my wife (who's been a champ about helping with any of the tasks I can't do myself including putting on my own underwear...too much info?) has been taking a tiny bit of solace in saying "I told you so". I may never live this down.

Super bummer but it at least has a funny story to it. As we all get older (and this site is definitely mostly older men) shit hurts more often and for longer.

Get all fixed up and enjoy your summer

oh man. i saw that dumb tik tok trend. the snow is obviously too heavy to pull. only way i could see that working is if you pull the tarp off by tying it to the hitch of a car. that sucks that it got you. thanks for the disclosure. that was dumb and im sorry you paid the price.

I first noticed at 40. One of the owners if my company said at 40 it starts. By 45 its more prevalent and by 50 you expect it

As I am turning page to 49 soon, this has been widely accurate

Wait until you approach 60. LOL The stiffness is what gets me. Once I stretch and move around and have my coffee I am fine. A body in motion stays in motion. Don't forget it.

I've had some on and off knee issues the past few years. (Started using Bracelayer as my new baselayer this year for some added support which does seem to be making a difference so far). Then just yesterday my ENT told me "you have a surprising amount of hearing loss for someone your age"...so...yea...I'm falling apart already lol

i started using a soft knee brace on my right knee while skiing, last season. it made a huge difference. the prior season the wrong impact would send shooting pains up my leg. i went to an orthopedist who diagnosed me with anatomically low kneecaps and some worn down cartilage. did physical therapy for the summer, incorporated some of those exercises into my gym routing, and began skiing with the soft brace and the painful incidents stopped. i may get one for the left leg just to use prophylactically

Advertising "Another storm this weekend" in the snow report, with all indicators pointing toward it being a storm on the cape at best is misleading. Boooooo.

And who TF "schedules" maintenance on a primary lift in the middle of the season? Come on.

a sunday > monday storm would actually dissuade me from going to sugarbush. most people gotta get home on sunday evening! i was kinda glad to see it go out to sea, just due to the drive timing of it all.

Yea..."scheduled" maintenance seems like a highly unlikely reason for being down several days in a row unless they had point blank announced it in advance. But I don't think that was the case the first day it was closed this week.

Also more interesting wording choices - "The crew is shifting over to Sunrise tonight for a little refill action." How are you "refilling" something that you never "filled" in the first place? At least they're finally hitting Sunrise!
