Yea..."scheduled" maintenance seems like a highly unlikely reason for being down several days in a row unless they had point blank announced it in advance. But I don't think that was the case the first day it was closed this week.
Do they really have no other guns than those shits?

"refill" starting soon

I agree that when comparing land guns there are issues with the SLs. But there is a reluctance to throwing away 100 SL land guns only to replace them with another manufacturer's gear that may have a bit better performance. We've seen and can point to other resorts that have done the very same thing. There's just not enough of an increase in efficiency to persuade the money holders to do that. What you will likely see going forward is more fixed gear, i.e. "towers" installed and automation. Birch/Sunrise for instance is at the top of the list. So yeah, for this year you're going to get a splash n' dash on SR. Apparently, they wrapped up the critical areas with enough time to go back to North Lynx. Good for them. The temps are certainly in their favor.Even if they swapped out every Striker based DV4 for an HKD Viper, they would still have sufficient air. My hunch is they simply don't want to make such a purchase (the HKDs are now around $5K new) and that's why they are stuck with the Snow Logics more than air management.
My issue with the DV4s are more the throw or lack therof. They work well when things are calm, but as soon as you get a little wind they fall flat on their face. You'll obviously never get K3000 toss from Low-E but I think all things considered the Impulse and Phazer Pluses can't be beat for their throw. We also deployed a bunch of SMI Bulleseye prototypes single step guns as an alternative to HKD ($3K vs $5K) and they do fairly well, albeit with no adjustment capability.
