Very sad news. He was a special part of the Sugarbush community. I had many of the same experiences Hawk and CD spoke of with him coming to our table to take pictures. What always struck me for a guy running a restaurant for so many years - he was always so nice and constantly smiling! RIP Henri.

So sad. He once used his phone to take pics of us then gave us his phone to send the pics to our email and forgot his phone. When leaving, I handed the phone to the waitress and she said, he leaves that everywhere.

RIP Henri. You made for many special times.

An integral part of what makes Sugarbush the place that it is. RIP Henri.

I saw it on Saturday. Interesting deal. It really does nothing for the area. Must be a favor to the town to build good will.

I got some really sad news last night. Henri Borel passed yesterday. I am sure that most of you on here have not spent any time in Chez Henri at Subarbush but for those who have, I am sure you have a story about Henri. Over the past 20 or so years I have spent many a night and some afternoons driking a Kir Royal or a French 75 or eating some special french dish they were offing that evining. It was a special place for a lot of people. Singley owned by Henri since 1964, it is one of the longest running estabishments at a ski area in the country. I will miss Henri. I have this lasting image of him with my phone trying to take our picture saying with his strong french accent, "Act natural, Keep talking," Some of you proabably have the same memory. Henri was 96.

Sad news, thanks for letting us know, We ate at Henri's restaurant once a few years ago and really enjoyed it. He was in his early 90's at the time and we were told that he was still a regular out on the slopes, RIP.

In any event, I hope there is someone in place to take over this wonderful estabishment...

I hope that's true. I had heard late in the season last winter (from Dino maybe?) that the grandson wanted no part of the business anymore. Hope that was either wrong or he changed his mind.

not sure if this is news (?), but thats a nice a la carte deal from sugarbush! $99 "tbd" ticket, that comes with a free day. so its $50 a day. i dont see anything that would stop someone from getting multiples too. good for someone who wants to spend 2-6 ski days at bush without committing to an ikon

There's some fine print there about the "free" day. The free day can only be redeemed either on Fat Tuesday (2/13) or on a day in April.

I saw that. Still, is that cheaper than the quad pack? $99?
Yes...but the days are non-transferable. Quad pack can be shared. Plus apparently with the "Third best offer" if you wait until the last minute to use it on a particular day, tickets for that day may be "sold out". Whereas Quad pack can be used no matter what on any given day.

Anyone been to the new ( Old Egans) yet? One client said it was a pretty cool place, grabbed a chef from Stowe area and its owned by a Burlington outdoor store?

They dumped some dough into the place from the looks of it, and they have glamping tents, hoping to cash in on mt bik crowd in summer from what she said.
