In comparison to other areas, like Stowe or Magic or Bromley or Stratton, rather than “no skinning” they specify where not to skin due to snowmaking activity. Of all places, with such limited snowmaking territory, to just outright ban skinning is a complete fail.

Ellen is all tracked up. Everybody on here knows my opinion on the rules. The quiet non-rule followers win every time. ;-) Headed to Sunday River. I will be back when we have some terrain open. Use your IKON pass people. That is the benefit.

lol. I skied Waterville yesterday which was downloading to the base. Out of respect for the very active snowmaking and my lack of familiarity with Waterville, I respected the rule and downloaded even though I damn well knew the routes down weren’t just skiable, they were GOOD. it pained my poachers ass watching other people enjoying the unobstructed 1500 vertical of untracked fresh as I downloaded like a damn normie

I feel your pain Kusty.
Ton of pissed off people up here. I feel bad for both the people and the mountain. I hate to say it but the bad news is going to keep coming i think. There have not been any updates on HG. There is a reason......

Don't forget about the NY mountains...Belleayre, Gore, Whiteface (which all managed to open before Thanksgiving). And then Windham and Hunter opened today as well.

This is a clear sign that Sugarbush really needs to invest in upgrading snow-making sooner rather than later.

If HG wasn't being replaced this year, would they have opened the upper mountain first? One would hope so...we'll have to see what happens next year.

I bet by Wednesday most if not all ski resorts that are open will have 100+ acres open. Sugarbush will open with 20 acres
I feel the General Manager at Sugarbush needs to come onto this forum and explain himself, Win would have.

I'm somewhat glad I usually have a lot of other stuff going on around Thanksgiving and rarely plan to ski at this point. Sugarbush has another couple weeks before I plan to get my ass up there.

I highly doubt iKon would allow their GMs to come on here and explain themselves.

Why don't you simply send him an email or call him and ask? He's always been approachable if a bit reserved and would give you a straight answer.
I'm sure you're aware that all the nearest mountains are still closed; MRG, Stowe, Bolton, Cochrans, Middlebury.
