I keep both boots on...Dalbello Lupos are basically hiking boots when put in walk modeI would just take one boot off and drive over. Did it a few times for different reasons. Wife and kids would keep everything on.

I grew up in the 60’s riding in the rear facing seats of a giant Chevy wagon while my parents smoked cigarettes and us chucking things out the rear window that was rolled down while driving on the highway.Kind of ironic timing, but I passed a billboard on the NJ Turnpike on the way home from work today advertising the NY Boat Show at the Javits Center and the first thought that entered my mind was going to the boat show as a kid (either late 80s or early 90s) the one time in my friend's dad's station wagon sitting in the rear facing seat. I remember it snowing on the way home that time.
I remember in the 70’s, riding in the back of an Oldsmobile station wagon, rear tailgate window rolled down and we were sitting on top of the tailgate while (heads above the roofline) mom was driving 40 mph.
The good old days for sure.I remember in the 70’s, riding in the back of an Oldsmobile station wagon, rear tailgate window rolled down and we were sitting on top of the tailgate while (heads above the roofline) mom was driving 40 mph.
Fair point but I’m old.The 90’s weren’t the 70’s LOLZ
Seems like a shame, and a missed opportunity for LPA.Poma doesn't support older model lifts. Look to Killington needing to source parts from Boneyards for their 1996 Needles Eye HSQ. If I was management I'd stay far far away from considering reinstalling someone's used Poma HSQ.
I agree. For the record I used to love LPA. But after watching their eff-ups at Alta and hearing about their cavalier attitude and unwillingness to get jobs done on time, I’m not a fan anymore. LPA’s delays on Sunnyside cost Alta six-figures of lost revenue from the delays. LPA’s response? “Meh.” Plus Doppelmayr’s D Lines at Brighton and Big Sky are amazing.Seems like a shame, and a missed opportunity for LPA.
This is not true. The only reason part would be borrowed from any lift is because it is not running and the part from the affected lift is not in stock and might take a few days to arrive. Slidebrook typically is the last lift to open because of the snowpack underneath and the opening date of ME, so that it is why it has usually been of the last to be inspected. When we said it was not open due to weather or snowpack that was the truth, and I am sure the current team does the same. I honestly do not know the status of this lift but will ask when I get a chance so the rumors and misinformation can stop.In the meantime I am more concerned with not get frost bite. It is really cold and windy right now but the snow is piling up.This is 100% the case. The safety protocols are real, but not that's just not the main reason. Parts scavenging and not enough staff to keep it in a good state of repair and then operational once ready to go. Summit Ventures and now Alterra were/are guilty of it.
That pod is always manned by ski patrol if it's open for hiking. Was discussing this with ski patrol the other day. They have to be in position to do their job if necessary.Well, it can't be the lack of ski patrol which is keeping Castlerock lift closed. There were four patrollers in the warming hut on top of Castlerock the other day. Normally, I don't have a problem with that. I just don't want the Bush to start using it as an excuse.
That should be friday. Wind blown for sure. The reason is number 3. At least I hope it is. I have no issues with leaving it until it snows at least a foot more.
