Mountain fired today. Plenty of fresh if you wanted to look for it. Castle had some great goods and some side stashes on trail right up through close- getting decently thin in spots on trail on most runs by close. Decent base in the woods up high but still light treading required.

On piste and lower elevation was crusty with some firm spots. Heavens gate broke for about 45 mins and gave vouchers to all who were stranded, fortunately missed that mess by a chair as I was about to load when it went down.

Is there a better outlet we can address the issues with the mountain besides roasting the place on here? Reaching out to mgmt/ customer service, anyone have an email or better idea?
I don’t know, for me, I’m pretty sure that the powers that be know that having a major chair and terrain pod inoperable until late January is a major problem. I don’t think they need it pointed out to them. If they do, well, they’re really in trouble. So if you feel there’s some value in venting, go ahead. It’s certainly warranted.

the cozy brown snows of the east
I brought the Claybrook up earlier as they charge guests now as much or more per night than a stay in Aspen, Vail, Telluride, Park City, or Jackson Hole and those places have very little fear of half the mountain randomly being shut down over rain or wind. Again, that's East Coast weather that is out of everyone's control but then you really need to make sure all the little things are being done right if you want to charge prices like the big boys do.

Weather impacts the big boys too: I've been at Vail when they had to shutdown all the Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin due to wind. On one trip to Kirkwood the entire mountain was shutdown due to wind for two days. Look up Interlodge at Alta/Snowbird. At Breck on powder days, avalanche control can take hours, which delays the opening of some of the best terrain.

There is plenty to be disgruntled about with Sugarbush this year, but keeping off of lifts when nature makes them unsafe isn't something that bothers me at all.

Somewhat random question...I saw American Flatbread is back to normal table service. Are they also back to doing the show up at 4 and put your name on the list for a seating later thing? Or is purely first come, first serve now?
No more line up. Show up and wait.

Not the best conditions today at Lincoln but the sun was out and I went all day. There was a big crowd but the lifts all ran and lines weren’t too bad.

We went last night at 6. Table of 5, 90 minute wait. I drank 4 Edwards and was fine. ;-)

Hah...I probably saw you. I got there around 6. Table for 2 (me and my dad). Was about a 35 minute wait for us. They seated us at the counter as you walk into the main seating area.

Busy at ME today. U10 race brings probably 150 cars but still lots of folks enjoying the goods! Parking stretches down the access road...usually only see that on powder days.
