It is remarkable how people take the bait. Clearly Vance coming to Vermont to ski (sort of) was trolling. He could have gone to Idaho and be surrounded by adoring fans and protective "Christian Identity" militia. He is actually a danger on the slopes, so why ski in such a large public venue? Why, for the theatrics of his "oppression." The guy can't ski to save his life. Traverse and shuffle through a change of direction (I won't call it a turn) is a mess on a crowded slope. The soundtrack to this should be "I'm Your Puppet".

Global warming, which the current administration is doing their hardest to accelerate, is an existential threat to Vermont’s ski industry and the state of Vermont alone is not going to be able to resolve it.

Guess if you think government or man can control climate you would want federal policy. If that is the position it kinda means nothing with China, India, Brazil etc not on board and polluting like no one’s business

Anyhow - I prefer to keep the feds and their cronies (no matter the side of the aisle) out of the equation on the environmental impact on skiing as well as a host of other issues. Understanding the divide in this county - neither party is honest on this or many topics. They rarely accomplish anything except looting the treasury so I say leave environmental issues and that impact on the ski industry to the states and local govt

Of course. Just think about what happened. An American Vice President was run out of an American town. Is that something to be proud of? If you think it is, you are the problem.
I’If it were Obama I would be just as horrified. It was a disgrace, a total fucking disgrace what happened. We are all Americans. Sorry if your side lost. Deal with it. This isn’t how we should deal with it. This isn’t being patriotic.
Ha ha ha ha
sure, but you’re all in on the guy who sent a mob to ransack congress and kill his vice president
ha hah ha ha

sorry I couldn’t help myself

the cozy brown snows of the east
From the Boston Globe (sorry, paywall):

In a statement to the Globe, Sugarbush spokesperson John Bleh said the resort respects “the voice and opinion” of its employees but “determined that the snow report was not the appropriate medium to share that information.” He would not comment on whether Welch had faced disciplinary action but said she “remains a member of the snow reporting team.”

Peacefully and patriotically you mean?

Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.

But yeah, all in. All the way in. And I have to admit, it’s much more fun now than say in 2022 when skiers were being dragged out of Alterra resorts for not wearing masks. Man, so refreshing to have freedom back!!

Sorry again.

Hopefully Alterra steps in, maybe even with a bit of pressure and does the right thing all around. Sugarbush needs new management, a complete overhaul.

Just the way that shit stain of a VP acted on Friday to Zelenskyy -- an invited guest -- when Zelenskyy brought up that Russia has repeatedly reneged on their security guarantees in the past and why should they be trusted this time around is deserving of him being ridden out of town. And this is before you get into all his other horrible political beliefs.

you mean when Trump was trying to help Ukraine with a peace deal and save their country? You do realize it’s Trump trying to create peace right? Trump. Nobody else. Trump is. Everyone else wants to give Ukraine more money and weapons for the slaughter. Trump wants it to stop. You do realize this right? Because you do realize the alternative is more war right? Do you understand this?
Because the people protesting in Waitsfield didn’t seem to understand this.
